Theme Entry

I don’t think I have ever written a theme entry but here goes.

What was your first job?  What did you learn from it?

My first job was working the Concession Stand at a Movie Theater. I was 16 years old.  It was sooo great.  I really loved that job.  I think I learned a lot more from actually trying to get the job than from the job itself.  An aquaintance worked there and he referred me after I begged and pleaded.  Me and all my friends put in applications but I was the only one that got hired.  I learned from that, it’s not what you know sometimes , it’s who you know!  I eventually got my two best friends a job there as well!

From the job itself, I learned how to work with different personalities, I learned how to make your job fun and I learned that working meant you had your own money and you could spend it anyway you pleased and that felt great. I also learned that it sucks to get in trouble at work and that only happened once and for the most part I haven’t had to endure being in "trouble" again..Until now that is ..(I got fired!..But that wasn’t my fault)

Anyway, I think the most important thing I learned is that you should work somewhere that you love or at least like, it will keep you young and happy.  It is a terrible feeling waking up and going to a job you hate, I learned that work could be fun and that bosses can be respectful and not a$$holes and that is definitely important now that I am a grown up!

Thanks for reading!
