Upcoming Weekend – Camping
Dear Diary,
In my last entry I mentioned wanting to try and squeeze in camping this Saturday evening. I checked on the same state park that we visited two weeks ago and saw that during this time of year they require a 2 night stay. I sort of gave up on the idea of going at that time but since then have decided to see what else I can find as far as other local campgrounds. I’m pretty sure I’ve found a winner!
It has pools in two areas of the campground as well as a swimming pond with a sandy beach in another area. A separate trout fishing area is offered. There is mini golf and activities planned and the price is right! I can’t remember if it’s $29 or $31 but it’s a deal either way. It’s about a half hour away which is slightly closer than where we went two weeks ago. So, I’ve started to make my camp list. I did a small grocery shop on my lunch so that I’d have what we would need for sandwiches, snacks, drinks and s’mores.
One of the nice things about having Reagan right here at school with me is I was able to pop in at lunchtime and run the plan by him to make sure he was interested, too. Of course he was! What kid wouldn’t be?
I pulled some pics off of the website….
Creek area….
The resolution is bad on a few of these but this is one of the two pools…
The second…. sorry I couldn’t find one with better resolution….
Fishing pond….
Swimming Pond…
The map of the grounds…
Anyway, I’m excited! It is supposed to be around 90 during the days and 70 overnight. Good camping and swimming weather!
I made an order for more camping scrap supplies today in anticipation of more camping!
I was pleasantly surprised by the different campgrounds offered in this area. I like the idea of being able to swim while camping in the summer. I found one other I like the idea of that we might try. I had some interest in a Yogi Bear Resort Campground, too but that one was something like $90 a night. I feel pretty strongly that campsites should cost $30 or less a night….. $20ish is ideal. I think we paid $21 or $24 two weeks ago.
I’d plan to accomplish as much as possible this evening, Friday evening and early Saturday. I need to pack, catch up on tidying and I have both some paper crafting projects and organization projects I’m working on. It’s easy for things to get behind when we’re on the go every weekend and working all week. I like squeezing in all the fun stuff though so I’ll work hard so we can play hard.
That’s it for today! Happy Wednesday!
oh either price it is a great deal. 🙂

Wow, $90 for camping? They need to fix that price. Most hotel chains cost less than that per night!

We have a Yogi Bear campground nearby too (Cape Cod). You do pay more because of the activities, but not sure if it’s worth it. I remember there were tons of campgrounds on the main drag near Dutch Wonderland. I think I have my notes on them somewhere. Hero is upset that he won’t get to go to that steam show in your area this year!

What a fun weekend and perfect weather! It’s not warm enough for the beach yet. I would like to go camping though! Fun and affordable adventure! Ashley
