Snippets of Life…. *pics*

Dear Diary,

I have some random pics to share….. almost all pertain to Reagan.

I don’t think I shared this picture at his most recent recital….

The Lower School has an assembly just about every Wednesday morning.  Each week a different grade hosts the assembly.  Next week Kindergarten will host.  In a recent Kindergarten blog post the teachers asked if any Kindergartener’s wanted to play their recital piece.  I mentioned this to Reagan and he responded with an immediate yes.  He doesn’t seem to have any nerves or anxiety over these types of things.  He will practice just a bit harder prior but that is the only variation in behavior that I see.  This is so unlike me…. I still don’t like to be the center of attention.  I do present from time to time with my job but it is one of my least favorite things to do.  So far, Reagan has none of that.  I’m not sure if it is just his personality or if it has a lot to do with this school and his comfort level here.  He doesn’t know anything different.  Anyway…. its a good thing.

This is a new summer outfit for Reagan…. I think I shared pics off the Old Navy website when I bought it a month or two ago.  He wore it to a recent birthday party.

I like when a birthday approaches and he has a gift idea for his friend.  This particular girl likes to practice pretend karate moves on the boys at recess.  So we picked out a barbie that resembles her and then a Barbie Karate uniform.

That is the birthday girl at the head of the table in the red shirt….  Reagan is in the chair closest in the pic….

Blowing out the candles…

This spring Reagan has been playing some Soccer a couple days of week after school.  It has been a positive experience for him…  he is in the grey and black in the back….

Dribbling through the cones…

I like this one….

Soccer is sort of a side benefit.  I really think he is in it for the extra socialization with friends.  Which is okay, as long as he makes time for the soccer, too

scrimaging a bit….

Team huddle towards the end…  That’s Keith in the brown waiting to take Reagan home for the day.  I had just slipped out of my office at the school for a bit to watch a bit of soccer and take some pictures.

One of the recent Kindergarten art projects was a Monet interpretation….  A garden scene.  They fill our halls with art projects from all grades which is really enjoyable for all.

A larger view with projects from both classes….

I don’t think I shared the rain forest Kindergarten built….  They studied the different layers and the animals that live within.  The kids drew and cut out all the animals to add.  and help make the scene.  It evolves over the unit and is a lot of fun to see the day to day changes.

More recently they have studied Australia.  These are Aboriginal Dot Paintings they did.

They also went on a Walkabout which is an Aboriginal tradition…. my understanding is that it is a trek made in adolescence.  Here are the kids walking across campus to a spot we call The Habitat….

Settled into The Habitat for a story related to the Walk About….

And another recent event…. 5th graders held a Poet’s Cafe and read poems they had written to other grades while serving milk and cookies.  The event has a bit of a Beatnicks feel to it….

Kindergarten taking in the poetry….

Here is a baby bunny Reagan and the boy next door found out in the yard….

A recent what I wore…. weekend….  It’s a dark brown dress…. that’s a bit hard to make out…. denim jacket…

Earrings…. a gift from my mom….

I mentioned my cheesy Paris costume jewelry in a couple of recent entries.   I wore it this Saturday….  long necklace….

The charm bracelet…

Shoes…

I’ve switched from the spring / Easter"ish" shower curtain to something a bit more beach like….

The painting shown is of Burano from when we went to Italy / Venice in 2006….

We’ve settled back into our weekday routine.  I’ve done most of the beach laundry and just repacked them and put them in the trunk.  Yesterday I had my nails done on my lunch… just a simple French manicure.  After work I had a quick hair trim.  I also made a quick stop at the grocery store and we enjoyed homemade spaghetti for dinner.  I was craving it and it hit the spot.  It’s something all three of us like but we had not made it in quite awhile.

Today on my lunch I think I’m doing a library and then bank errand.

The next couple of days I’m out of the office quite a bit for meetings…. Workers Comp annual meeting tomorrow and the our healthcare consortium has it’s monthly meeting on Thursday.  I believe we’ll get our healthcare renewal rates for the coming year.  And then *poof*, it’s friday!  This weekend we are home.  I have a birthday party to take Reagan to on Saturday.  Sunday evening we’ll finally get together with our previous tenants to meet the new baby and see their new home.

I don’t think I mentioned that my application was approved for the HR Cert test.  I’m scheduled for the end of June.  I need to continue to fit studying in….  It’s easy to push aside with all of life’s other responsibilities.

That’s it for today!  Happy Tuesday!

That’s cool he wants to play for the assembly! I love the soccer pictures he looks like he is having a great time!

That school looks like such a great place to be. My Jack was like Reagan in Kindergarten – no fear whatsoever of speaking/singing/playing in public – and he never outgrew it, which has been a LOT of fun to watch. 😉

RYN: im not worried about the IRS reading my diary, cause it is favs only 🙂 well at least the entry about my bosses lies is.

I love Reagan’s childhood. 🙂 He’s going to have the most fond memories of it when he’s older!

It’s nice to see Reagan so active and socializing. I interact well but am not one who likes to be the center of attention either. It’s so good for him though I think! Ashley
