Disney CA Adventure Part 2 (Vaca #13)
Dear Diary,
I left off in the last entry right about when we were entering the Paradise Pier area.
Look how beautiful it is!
There is a show on the water that happens periodically. The water dances to music while Goofy conduct. We caught the last snippet of that…
Such a happy sight! long awaited!
Our first ride in this area was Little Mermaid ride…
Boarding our clamshell for the ride…
A scene in the boarding area…
Scuttle…
She’s combing her hair with a fork while singing "The Girl who has Everything"…
Fish dancing, singing and performing to "Under the Sea"…
It’s all fun and games until…. URSULA!….
King Triton…
And you exit to a happy ending and "Kiss the Girl"….
As we exited the Little Mermaid ride the toy soldiers from Toy Story were putting on a show…
A cute corn dog stand…
Our next ride was Jumpin Jellyfish…
The Paradise Pier hotel – This was another place where the hotel was incredibly adjacent to the park and had an entrance right in at the Paradise Pier section. This was a new concept for me. I like it!
Phineas and Ferb were coming out for a show…

As we rounded the corner we saw the opportunity to visit with Jessie. We’ve met Woody a couple of times but this is our first time to meet Jessie…
I was just thinking that Jessie’s pose above is sassy… Reagan’s is pretty sassy in this next one, too…
My super cute Mouseketeer!
A view of the coaster zooming by!
Time for a treat!
I’m pretty sure I had a frozen banana at this time. My Dad had the chocolate chip cookie sandwich…
A Midway area along the pier…
Ferris Wheel time!
Our carriage awaits…
Reagan and I on the ferris wheel ride…
A very cool view of things to come from the Ferris Wheel! You can see the Carsland skyline ridge. Love those tailfins! The palmtrees in the foreground border the Paradise Pier / Wharf area and then Carsland is in the distance… LOVE!
Off the Ferris Wheel and looking back at the Midway….
Next we got in line for a Toy Story Midway type ride / game. It’s similar to Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters but instead of their being targets and a red laser pointer you wear 3-D glasses and actually see yourself launching rings, darts, balls, saucers, etc. It is pure Disney magic and very cool!
Anyway… in line…. Reagan and Grandpa with Mr. Potato Head….. I have no idea what is up with my Dad’s shirt. I just tried to Google it’s meaning without much luck. Any ideas?
A better shot of Mr. Potato Head… he’s a Boardwalk Barker….. talking to all as they pass and encouraging them to play…
In line I took pictures of all the posters. I plan to print them in a smaller size and make a poster border on my scrapbook layout of this ride…
These give an idea of all the different games you stop and play through the ride. It felt like we played about 10 but I’m not sure…

The Love Bug in his glasses!
This is the type of car you ride in. And there is a launcher mounted on your dash…
Some of the features…
Grandpa, all set!
All loaded in and ready to launch!
Here we go…
Toys along the way… You travel from 3-D screen to 3-D screen. You stop at each screen to play and score points. As you make your way through there are these little scenes between stopping at screens.
Our dash score boards…
Up next…. King Triton’s Carousel…
Reagan rode a Blue Whale…
I rode a sea otter…
looking back at the other sea creatures…
The carousel’s music is coming from here…
Another view of "my" otter…
The sea horse is very cool…
I got a picture of my Dad on his fish at the end… He is a good sport for putting up with me and my camera!
More carousel detail…
Rounding the end of Paradise Pier headed towards the Wharf area…
A cute soft serve ice cream place…
<div class=”zoomPicturePreviewDiv”>
A spot to meet Duffy!
Getting to meet Duffy the Disney Bear was another first for us. What a neat treat!
Ariel’s Grotto is a restaruant just as you enter / leave Paradise Pier on the Wharf side…
The sign as you exit Paradise Pier…. "we miss you already"….
Goodbye Paradise Pier…. "See Ya Real Soon!"…
Entering the Pacific Wharf….
This seemed like mostly just a restaurant area. We just made our way through to Carsland.
And that is where I’m going to stop this entry. I’ll pick up in the next entry with ALL THINGS CARSLAND!
Happy Wednesday! Tomorrow is our Friday! We have a four day weekend for Good Friday/ Easter! Very exciting!
Ahhh! I wanna go back to disneyland sooooo bad!! Did you know if you yell, andys coming! Around the toy story characters, they will drop!

I rode the Ariel ride and the Monsters Inc. one from your last entry about 5 or 6 times each, because they were Kailey’s favorites and they were nearly empty when we happened to be there. 🙂 You’re bringing back all the fun memories I have from CA with your photos!
