CA Adventure Loose Ends *pics* (Vaca #16)

Dear Diary,

This will be the last of the California Adventure pictures.  There are a few miscellaneous shots and then quite a few from the Pixar Play Parade.  And there are a few from the World of Color show that evening.

Here’s a shot of the trolley entering Hollywood Land and heading to Buena Vista Street….

The vendors came out of this same gate to bring cotton candy and popcorn to sell at the parade….

We found a good spot to watch the parade.  Monsters Inc. led the way.  (I found really cute Monsters Inc scrap supplies!)

Sulley!

The Parade sign…

More Monster’s Inc….. contamination guys…

Incredibles!

These guys on the bouncy stilts were pretty cool!

Crush leads the way for the Finding Nemo section….

Jellyfish…

Who thinks these things up?… A diver on a recumbent with a puffer fish kite….

I liked the diver’s mask on the back…

Heimlick!

The Bug’s Life section….

Look how big this next float is…

These two on swings were neat….

This cast member made a quick visit to Reagan but I missed the magic moment… (camera delay 🙁  )

Toy Story time! Tinker Toys!!

Army men….

The Aliens…

Cutie!

Buzz Lightyear groupies…

There’s Buzz!

More Toy Story…

Jessie and Woody! Hamm and Rex, too!

A bit closer shot of Jessie and Woody!

Rex….

Slinky!

Mater!

And the parade end… Thanks for Playing!

In the Disney Animation Building we went to Turtle Talk with Crush.  This show blew me away.  I still don’t know how they did it.  Crush was on the screen but he was having a realtime, improv conversation with the guests in the theatre.  I’m just not sure how they accomplished realtime animation, gestures, voices, etc while it’s all complete improv.  It was impresive and felt like true Disney Magic!

This was an animation model, too that had me blown away at first but I did eventually figure out how they did it.  Still amazing stuff!

A Walk and Mickey statue located centrally where Buena Vista St ends…

This night we sat down and had sandwiches, chips and cold drinks followed by treats and warm drinks from Starbucks.  I think it was about a bazillion dollars but I remember it all as very yummy.

We took our treats and warm drinks to the Paradise Pier area where the World of Color show took place.  The night time views were really pretty there!

This one is out of focus but you get the idea…. this is the area where Ariel’s Grotto was and pictures with Duffy the Disney Bear…

Mickey was putting on a show of his own….

Part of the World of Color show….

I’m not sure you’ll be able to make this out but they reflected images on the water.  Here the balloons from UP are rising.  I LOVED IT!

All done with projected imagaes…

And there was a lot of dancing colored water set to music….

And that concludes California Adventure….. Universal Studios is coming up next!

Gorgeous. They have Turtle Talk with Crush in Florida too, and it has to be one of Paige’s favorite parts of Disney! She thinks it’s so cool! (as do the rest of us!) Ryn: I must’ve missed the entry with your lanyards! I tried looking back, but it doesn’t seem you have anything labeled that. Can you remember the title of the entry? I’d love to see them!

Turtle talk is cool.

Wow… I am amazed at how detailed everything is. I can’t imagine what it is like to be there in the midst of all of that!
