Birthday, Part 3, The Party *pics*
Dear Diary,
I’ve been trying to catch up on posting pics / details. If you missed it and are interested two entries ago I posted about our little celebration at home on his actual birthday. One entry ago I posted about our birthday adventure to the Lego Land Discovery Center. This entry will take us into the actual birthday party with friends and family…..
I believe this was the day before the party. We opened 2 or 3 presents a day between the actual birthday and the party day….
The night before the party I had my work cut out for me with baking the birthday cupcakes and adding their wrappers. I also made picks to decorate them with that you’ll see later in the entry…. I’n the background there is another whole batch of cupcakes for the baseball game the evening after the party…. busy baker!
This Angry Birds / 6 banner is another homemade decoration……
This next one was taken the morning of the party. He looks so tired. Last week was tiring. We switched to the new summer camp / schedule routine and with adding all the birthday excitement into the mix we got pretty tired.
He got the new Lego Batman movie and then a book at his reading level from the new Monsters University movie.
Here are the contents of the birthday party goody bags…. A few of the items… pencils, stickers, bags, topper were from Target. The little notebook, markers, fruit gummies and eraser were in JoAnne’s dollar section. The kids seemed to like them.
I made toppers to add to the green pig bags…..
Continuing to open gifts…. he looks a bit more bright eyed here…
Skylander Giant Mega Blocks…
All dressed and ready to go to his party….
A quick birthday family picture…
The party location…
There was a section of the litle restaurant sectioned off for us….
Reagan with his cupcakes and banner….
I put a coloring sheet placemat at each setting and that helped to entertain everyone while we waited for all the guests to arrive…
The gift table…. The goody bags to pass out are here. There is also a place for guests to write a birthday message to Reagan….
We brought a few toys from home to help decorate, too….
You can see a circle of little Angry Bird toys around the base of the cupcakes….
Here is a better view of the coloring placemat. We also placed a mask and blower at each spot… The little blue cups have crayons. I added the little scalloped orange circles and Angry Bird circles to the cups. Do you remember when I shared about the clay Angry Birds I made Reagan and gave to him during the Spring Break 2012 cruise? This was before there was a good selection of Angry Birds toys available. The little clay birds are pretty heavy. At the last minute I grouped bunches of them in clear bags and used them as balloon weights. It worked well. You can see one to the left of the napkin holder /salt and pepper. The Coca-Cola cups were goodies put together by the restaurant. I didn’t realize they did something, too.
Here is a bit closer look at the balloon weight bags…. That envelope next to it is the Father’s Day Card for my FIL.
Speaking of the FIL here is Reagan and Grandpa. Reagan opened up his gift from Grandpa with him just before the party started….
Very cute wrapping… I think Sandy used a Lego themed paper table cloth…. Grandpa and Sandy gave him a Lego fire boats set and a Lego Batman set.
Reagan opened another gift with a friend that arrived. This little boy is in Reagan’s class.
The card was a very cute Where’s Waldo scene. The gift was Monsters University Walkie Talkies. Fun!
More guests started to arrive….
Reagan went around and wrote names on the placemats before the party to assign the seats. He wanted his cousins to sit next to him….
I think we were just waiting on one more guest at this point…
This is the cutie that used to live in our upstairs apartment!
Our next door neighbor boy….
A classmate coloring…
Two more classmates….
The kids all ordered what they wanted for a meal and then we headed out for mini golf….
Getting clubs and balls…
My original plan was 8 kids and we ended up with 9 including Reagan. I was happy with the group size…..
We split into a few groups to golf….
Reagan wanted to be with his cousins….
I made my way between groups trying to get some pictures…
Elizabeth’s Daddy helped her….

Jacob ended up with a hole in one. He bounced his ball off of a tree during that shot….
William, Jacob and Braedon were on a team together…
Reagan was super silly!
A covered bridge along the course….. Again, this is the little boy who used to live upstairs. That is his mom with him. Last summer she took care of Reagan for us. This year they have another new baby. We’ll see him in a bit….
The neighbors…
My Lovebug…
I like how the ball is over the hole in this next one…
Cuteness overload! He looks like he has it all figured out!
On his way….
Reagan with two of his classmates as they turn in their golf clubs…
While we golfed Keith’s parents, his brother and sister-in-law had lunch on the patio….
Reagan and his friends in their party masks…
Lunch came…. Reagan chose a quesadilla and apples….
Some picked sandwiches and hotdogs…
We moved on to cupcakes and ice cream after lunch…
Cousins!
My cutie pie!
The kids all got to go up to the ice cream counter and pick a cone or bowl with the flavor of their choice. Reagan picked orange creamcicle….
Singing Happy Birthday…
Several enjoying their ice cream….
Statue of Liberty! You can get a peek at some Angry Bird tatoos on his arm, too. We did that at the start of the party, too….

Molly!
Kelty’s colored picture was very pretty!
Here’s the new baby boy!
Opening some gifts with family…. Keith’s brother’s family gave him a couple of Star Wars Lego sets…..
Keith’s mom gave him a really cute day pack to use for Cub Scout events…..
Here is the completed page where guests wrote Reagan a birthday message. I can slip it right into the scrapbook.
Once home he still had a few more presents to open….
Almost all of Reagan’s presents were Legos of some sort. When you see them all together it is really something. We’ve had several conversations with Reagan and he feels really fortunate for all the friends and family who helped him celebrate turning 6. He’s a very lucky boy!
Thomas has been on his way out of Reagan’s likes for about 5 months now. I’ve waited to put anything away because I thought he might change his mind. But, I think it’s time. I have started to pack some of it up to make room for his current toy choices. I still have a lot of packing up to do. Then I need to decide what to store for future generations and what to sell. It’s a bit of an overwhelming process for me but I’ll get there.
Coming up next….. baseball fun with Scouts!
Goodness, gracious. 🙂

Looks like he had a good time!! My three year old daughter announces constantly what theme she wants for a particular birthday, 4 is Hello Kitty, 5 is Princess, 6 is Christmas.. she’s skipped a few years and said when she’s 25 she wants Angry Birds!! LOL I’m going to hold her to it.

What a nice birthday! Geez he has lots of legeos to keep him busy now! RYN–After calling the OB, I think I understand it has I just have to pay the initial copay tomorrow, then the dr fee (349.00) and no more copay at each visit. I could be wrong though.

What an incredible 6th birthday party! You are the best planner and I love everything you do for Reagan. It looks like he had super fun too. Makes me sad that he no longer likes Thomas haha. I’ve practically “seen” him grow up into a handsome little boy. I’m thrilled to see him celebrate his 6th bd.
