A year ago I was just learning what death was like. Losing Dad has been such an interesting learning experience. Now, a year later, what I know is that the pain of losing someone never goes away, it never fades. It always waits for you in the darkness….in the light….in the moments you least expect. It may take a day or a week or even longer, but the pain is always there – the trick is to make friends with it, embrace it and remember that one never dies if they live in the hearts of those they leave behind
