Busy Busy Busy

I just had a flash from the past and read a few entries from when I was 15. Holy fuck, did I ever sounds like a kid in high school and fuck me did I not have any real problems. My biggest issue was my boyfriend, Brad, breaking up with me. Which is funny because he is still my friend to this day and will be attending my wedding a couple months. Oh and me going on about my stepdad and his unreasonable issues… and that hasn’t changed either. Weird.

This next week will be fairly busy. We have a meeting with our decorator on Tuesday night and then on Saturday we’re meeting a new officiant. We had an officiant booked, but she kind of fell off the face of the earth and then recently returned… it freaks me out though, having an unreliable officiant. I mean, if there is no officiant to marry us then there really isn’t a wedding, is there? And that means we just paid thousands of dollars for a friggin’ huge party. And while I like to party, I do not intend on paying said thousands of dollars to do so. Anyway, we’re meeting someone else and if we like her the old unreliable officiant can keep our deposit and fly a kite, really.

I also need to tan. I used to tan all the time, but I stopped a couple years ago because I was a student and therefore poor. But I look my best when my skin is glowing and so I must do it for my wedding. I keep putting it off, but I can’t really do that much longer.

I need to find dance lessons, and I need to return a pair of shoes from my one bridesmaid. Oh yeah, so one of my bridesmaids bailed in November (Amy) and her son Ethan (my ring bearer), and then my replacement bridesmaid (Heather) and her son (Owen) bailed on me practically a week after they confirmed their attendance at my wedding. So in the end I picked my friend Valerie, who doesn’t come with a young boy to replace my ring bearer, but was honoured and took on the duty happily. Buuut her feet are smaller than Amy’s and Heather’s and so I had to buy her a different size of shoe and the old shoes are still sitting on my staircase.

I also need to find some sentimental gifts my bridesmaids can keep and a couple little sentimental gifts for my flower girl and ring bearer. My bridesmaids have the shoes I bought them and the jewelry I bought them and I’m also paying for their makeup BUT they need something they can keep, ya know? Something I’m not forcing them to wear to the wedding…

My flowergirl has jewelry as well, and I got her a bride Barbie, but she needs something to keep also. And so far my ring bearer just has some hot wheels cars, so he needs something also.

Our parents…. well our moms have willow tree statues…. a mom/son and mom/daughter one. Our cake topper is also willow tree. Our stepdads have hankercheifs that says "stepfather" on them, as well as a personalized money clip….

I was thinking smaller willow tree statues for my bridesmaids and such? I dunno…. and maybe one for my grandma too?

I also need ribbon for my cake stand, but I have to measure that as well….

I’ve pretty much planned our honeymoon already. I just need to pay off our plane tickets (next week) and buy disney tickets (also next week) and then we can work on tickets to other attractions in Florida. I hate that my credit card limit is so low, but I consolidated my debt after I finished university and so this is what I have to work with for now.

I’m getting about $1000 back from income tax, so I’m going to cash it in for US money while the CDN dollar is pretty much at par with the USD. And I know we’ll get money for our wedding, but I need to organize things now since we are leaving for our honeymoon TWO days after our wedding…. which I think is completely insane, but its the time from off work that we had to work with.

Next week we have to apply for a marriage licence and I have my hair and makeup trial. And the week after that are my dress alterations and my bridal shower…..

It’s going to be a crazy 12 weeks.

RYN: Tips/tricks?? Hmmm I dunno. You’re going during a crazy busy time and it’s gonna be super hot. I read in so many guidebooks that ppl at Disney do special things for you if they know you’re honeymooners but we didn’t really find much of that sadly. As for the parks if you’ve never been make sure you get fastpasses early b4 they run out…don’t miss Seaworld and Universal Studios….have a…

plan of what parks you want to do when and keep in mind that the Disney parks are busiest on the days when they have the extra magic hours for Disney hotel guests and on weekends. Plus arrive right when the park opens as some people are latecomers and you will be able to fit more stuff in before the biggest crowds of the day. And try not to melt in that heat lol. Congrats on the wedding! Have fun!

RYN: Unfortunately, the backstage crew didn’t get to me in time to let me know what was going on. I was on my way out before they could flag me down.
