North Shore

Joe and I went to the North Shore this past week. We got along great. I drove. And Joe actually left our room to go on a couple of hikes. And he actually suggested places to go next time we come up. Amazing.

The weather was perfect. No rain, no clouds, warm weather, and blue sky.

The full moon rose over Lake Superior each night, so I had a little moon fun with my new camera.

I was able to read the entire book of the Discovery of Witches while lounging around Lake Superior.

The morning CNN announcer loved rolling her eyes whenever she reported on the Arnold Schwarzenegger story. I rolled my eyes, too.

Doesn’t anyone ever keep their dick in their pants?

We came back on Wednesday. I went to yoga class that evening.

It was nice enough for me to plant phase I of my garden on Thursday evening.

My grass is up to my knees and I want to cut it so bad, but it poured rain all day, and even though the sun just came out now, the grass is still too wet to cut.

It was a gut wrenching grief group session today, but it was a good session, with lots of painful grief work being done. There was a new widow and she’s trying so hard to be “normal.” There is no “normal” in spouse loss. Our brains have been seared, damaged, and we are trying to rewire them so we can try to go on with our lives. It takes a while to realize to come to terms with that.

I did a 45 minute yoga practice when I got home this afternoon.

Joe and I saw an eagle’s nest and an eagle perched beside it. As I was trying to get a decent shot of the eagle, I could hear her/him calling to its mate and the mate calling back. This is definitely the year of the bald eagle for me.

I love that man’s long legs!

I love how the moon reflects on the water. Great shots. And I think I wear that same brand of tube sock. :-)RYN: I agree about being too drained to worry. Also, part of my calm is because if I let M’s constant theorizing get to me, I’d be completely worn out.

I’m glad you were able to get away and had a good time. That’s so nice that Joe was out and about with you this time. It sounds like he’s coming around.
