I am composed

of many facets and personalities

many viewpoints and perspectives

and many an ear and acceptance

I am composed

of many troubles and confusions

many joys and many sorrows

and many yesterdays and tomorrows

But there is one thing I know for sure

that the ring doesn’t make me less human

that the dotted line doesn’t strip me of a heart

that my name doesn’t keep me from loving
