Chillin’

My holiday began at 4:30 on Friday afternoon when I decided to join  a few from work at the RE. There I relaxed and put my feet up with a vodka-lemon-lime before making my way home. I stopped in at Mum’s to say goodbye. We chilled till about midnight with Aaron & Katey and headed out to the airport on 4hrs sleep.

The flight was absolutely divine. It’s not often you can say that about flights but when you’re used to flying with Virgin Blue or Jetstar, and suddenly you’re flying with QANTAS… you know the difference. We were spoiled with breakfast, free headphones, and TV. I flipped through my magazine, listened to some chill music (Massive Attack) and slept. It was wonderful.

We dropped into Grandma & Granddad’s where Sinjay got a massage, and we picked up the Ford Territory. We spent the afternoon shopping with Cherie and Louis. We went to DFO and I bought 2 new dresses for $20ea, and 2 pairs of shoes for $25 all up. THAT is what I call shopping ; )

Louis’ 18th was… interesting. It’s only been 10yrs since I was eighteen but the difference between my youth and today’s youth is generational, I can tell you that much. Us "adults" were sitting out on the deck basically watching the party inside the house. We could see everything that was going on, from one end of the house to the other. Boys are strange these days – they hug and kiss and carry each other around. And girls feel enough freedom to lock themselves in the bathroom for a good make-out session.

I had the privilege of witnessing first-hand the interaction between a mother and her 18yr old son preparing for the grand event. I cringed at times, and other times I couldn’t help but laughing to myself. Poor Cherie was stressing out about how much food we should have, and Louis kept saying "Stop stressing, it’ll be fine". I eventually stepped in and said to Cherie, "In all honesty, if it’s going to be a majority of 18yr olds, they won’t be eating. They might eat a sausage or two." She still bought waaaay too many sausages and waaaay too much bread lol. She kept asking Louis is he would like a nice platter for his cake; if he would like a nice birthday banner up on the wall; and whether he’d organised to clean the house out properly.

We did help out with the cleaning. I felt very strange cleaning the house, as though here I was taking charge. My degrees to the one that actually lives in the house? The one that lives in the house is Linden, and he is my husband’s mother’s fiance’s son. It was as though I had somewhat of a right to be cleaning and moving chairs around – but at the same time I didn’t. The house is really a party house. It never gets cleaned, there’s beer bottles everywhere, and there is no love. It was very strange.

Someone spewed onto some furniture, someone else smashed a bottle into pieces, and someone else just threw a whole heap of towels onto the floor in the presence of Cherie. Wrong move. With everything going on (ie: teenagers being teenagers and not caring because it’s not THEIR house) Cherie had enough and told the spewer and the towel-thrower to leave, to get out, and not come back. The party died a little bit but those who were happy to dance, and boy were there some pretty good dancers to the really crap 18yo music, just stayed on dancing.

I eventually stopped watching and guzzled my chocolate liquer and milk and then felt happy and light-headed enough to get in there with all the teens and dance away, as did Ben and Cherie. It was great.

Louis was so so funny. He had his arms around different girls, he took his clothes off and ran around in his jocks, and he changed into his Borat mankini and did a little dance around the house too ! It was so so funny ! He is SUCH an eighteen year old. He’s all like "No worries! I’m young and I’m free". I love it.

Eventually I got talking to Alisha, and we got on really well. (Read: I can be eighteen when I want to be eighteen lol). And I seemed to get along with different teens here and there. Boys like me. I’m 10yrs older but boys always like me ; ) Calling me over and asking my name, and doing high-fives, and getting me to pick them up off the mattress ending up in half a wrestle haha. Alisha reckons me and Sinjay don’t look anywhere near 26 and 28. I LOVE that !

Ben was running around mixing with the teens too, but giving his age away severely haha. He kept asking Sarah "Am I a dork? Or am I cool?" And she’d tell him that she was cool. And he’d be like "I’m an old cool !!!" He is SUCH a crack-up when he’s drunk. He makes me laugh so much. He kept trying to protect Sarah from being teased or felt-up by other boys. We were saying to Ben "Leave her alone. She probably likes those boys!" lol. He is such a dork.

Unfortunately the night ended in tragedy when one of Louis’ mates Ben got a call from his brother, saying that their mother had fallen down some steps at The Pier Bar, split her head open and was rushed to hospital. Cherie took him to the hospital, some of his mates were distressed and saying "I love you man, I love you", and crying. The mother is now on life support…

After that, we went home and chilled at Ben & Luke’s with a shot of Jager , hehe. I was in party mode and kept dancing to the hardcore techno they had playing in the car. And then Ben bumped my chocolate liquer and glass smashed all over his table. Crazy drunkenness. I love being drunk with my family lol. We all get into the same mood and just laugh at anything (My second family).

We came home , showered, and me and Bebe had some sexy time. VERY sexy indeed… It was hot.

Tonight we’re going to Hogs Breath for dinner, and I’m looking forward to wearing some new clothes : )

Yes, the few times I’ve been clubbing in recent times, I’ve noticed that younger males don’t mind the whole cuddling thing. It was so weird when I first saw it! And that’s so sad about that mum being on Life Support. I hope her son said “I love you” to her before he went to the party. Good on you for getting in there and having fun!!!! And LOL about Ben trying to protect Sarah, lol!
