Spring Cleaning
I’m trying at least…I’ll give myself that.
– After writing the last entry I called about apartment inspection, they are supposed to come tomorrow morning, so that’s promising
– If the inspection goes okay we are going to pull down two of our walls to expose the brick underneath and then plan out/research any other renovations from there. It will be a pain I’m sure but I am super excited.
– Thursday night S had an evening presentation so we had dinner together, he left around 8pm, and I tackled all the mail and old paperwork files in the house.
– I separated everything into shredding/recycling and then called/emailed all the companies to hopefully keep the heads from popping up on the mail hydra going forward.
– Friday long but productive workday, worked until 10pm, approached but not achieved inbox whitespace, went home, had dinner, drank wine with S.
– Slept late on Saturday, showered, blowdried, did my French homework then had very nice French class, met S back at home. While I was in class he returned my library books and dropped Asos returns in mail.
– Called about the Amex Cards, then followed up on Monday. S is waiting for his next metrocard and will then send all of ours in so those are effectively done too
– Saturday cleared out dresser and closet, packed up stuff for goodwill and got it out of the house (!)
– Still have to organize shoes and kitchen shelves, but I am getting close
– Went for nice long run along river, and cooked healthy dinner on Sunday (Turkey lettuce wraps)
– Monday was kind of a fail – stayed at work until 1:30am last night but achieved white space in inbox. It is a constant battle but I can keep on top of it. Had to get delivery at work but did sashimi dinner, not too bad
– Brought lunch from home today including salad and heading out for swim practice right now. Booyah!
Updated List:
– Stay on top of work, keep white space in inbox
– Return library books
– Mail back Asos returns
– Get Amex Gift cards re-issued
– Get rid of all unnecessary objects in house
– Clean out and shred unnecessary paperwork
– Clear out paper mail and call companies to get off mailing lists
– Clean out closets, severely edit wardrobe/shoes
– Organize photos/other belongings
– Organize kitchen
– Apartment inspection
– Research renovation (after inspection)
– Apartment patching, painting, door (after inspection)
– Send in monthly Metrocards that are expiring
– Complete French homework each week
– Work out 6 days/week, mix of swim practice, dryland with team, spin, lifting, bikram, bootcamp
– Eat relatively clean, lots of protein, fresh produce
– Put hook back on back of closet
– Doctor’s Appointments: Dermatologist, Annual
– Book April, August, and September trips
oooh renovations! I love renovations. how exciting, I hope the inspection goes well and then you HAVE to post pics. 🙂

You are a source of constant inspiration. I feel like I always say that to you, but it’s nevertheless always true 🙂

Also, how long has that been your diary title for?! I just noticed it 🙂

At work til 1:30 am??? I cry FOR you!

I love and loathe spring cleaning at the same time. I finally made it through all of Evies cloests (both of them) and pretty much done with ours. I too have quite a list to work on, but it all gets done eventually 😉

Can’t wait to see the brick!!!!!!

You’ve achieved at least a third of your list, that is quite an achievement! It is interesting that you write about getting food delivered to your work late at night. The owner of our accommodation notes that you can get almost any food item delivered in New York, something I’m not used to seeing in restaurants. How far do you like to run for a long run?

well done!! I’m always impressed by your entries 🙂

Warning Comment
That’s pretty productive, am jealous!

Looks like we’re doing some of the same things these days. Did you guys decide to renovate rather than move?
Warning Comment
Oooh, love exposed bricks! Except in my last place, they weren’t sealed in so whatever it is that holds bricks together was just crumbling and probably oozing poison. I’m sure you won’t have that problem tho!
Warning Comment
I loooove exposed brick
Warning Comment
I hope you post before and after pics of the renovation!

You’re making great progress on your list! I find keeping a list helps keep me accountable too. Home reno’s are stressful but so worth it once they’re done!
Warning Comment
Your better then me, I clean out my closet and then the bag sits there for awhile!
Warning Comment
Work until 1:30am?! OH MY GOD!!! Yet you still manage to be so insanely productive outside of work too, you are seriously Superwoman!

r: One of my fave Quarter bars in Harry’s and it’s a couple doors down from Esoterica. I wandered in there one day and she read my cards, this was back in ’08, I think. She’s quite the character. Have you met her?
Warning Comment
r: Aww! Too cool! You should go in and see her shop next time you’re in town. She’s such an interesting woman. I’ve sent a few friends there who think she’s just too much but I love her booming personality. Pretty sure her website has a RIP thing with a pic of a Great Dane. 🙁

I think I need to do this kind of entry series. Am falling behind in critical areas of life. Being a productive adult feels good.

I love the look of a crossed-off list! Bravo and very inspiring.
Warning Comment
I need to make some time for spring cleaning/donating too.

You are the only person I know who fills her day with more **** than it should reasonably include. You make me feel more normal!!

RYN: I will definitely be around to keep reading and noting. I’ll be updating too (just keeping the personal stuff out I guess). Makes me sad =(
Warning Comment
Way to be amazing!

RYN: I’ve never seen The Following, but I keep hearing about how great it is. I’ll have to rent it on Netflix or something if it’s on there. And I did watch Glee and have a lot of thoughts on it which I’m about to write about lol.

How long have you been practicing Bikram??
