Snow Cherries From France
Exciting updates:
– I electrocuted myself this morning – it was my own darn fault but what a crazy sensation. Shocking!
– Am completely, utterly obsessed with Lana Del Rey. (Maybe I like this roller coaster/Maybe it keeps me high/Maybe the speed it brings me closer/I could sparkle up your eye)
– My intern from summer of 2008 was on the show The Millionaire Matchmaker. He founded a company and is supposedly worth like $10mm now – am shamefully jealous.
– Paris was awesome but it’s also so nice to be back in the NYC. My last weekend there S came to join me, we did fun tourist-y things and had a ton of fun. We flew back together and watched movies and drank loads of wine and cognac on the plane.
– Have been going out a lot since then – Hotel Griffou and Bathtub Gin and Onegin and also to our old local which has been renovated/renamed. I like it but it was cheaper and maybe more fun before. I am obsessed with the decor at all four places. We also finally went to the IFC Center and saw House of Pleasures. It tried very hard to be dark and gritty, but was just so languid and gorgeous.
– Christmas was nice, went up to my parents’ for Christmas Eve and Day – my mom made lasagne and we grilled halibut, mahi-mahi, swordfish, and regular steaks. I sent the steaks to my family along with coconut shrimp, cheesecake, and other yummies from Omaha Steaks. And of course lots of wine, because I never know what to get anyone.
– S was very sweet and got me a huge gift – a J12 chromatic. I love love love love love it but am now kind of living in fear as I destroy everything I own. Hopefully the titanium will help? My sister did remark she was sick of seeing photos of me in evening dresses and my old plastic digital timex ironman watch so I guess it was time. My gifts were not as cool – I tried to be creative and arranged for tailors to come to his office, serve him good scotch and create a few custom-made shirts to his specifications. I also bought us small plots of land in Scotland that allegedly come with title rights, so we can call ourselves Lord S and Lady Satine. Ha!
– Work has been slower lately, it’s nice to be working during this slow time to hopefully get a head start on things for the coming months. – I have one more project to do before logging out today – after that I am looking forward to New Year’s Eve and of course 2012!

Happy new year! You sure do live life to the fullest! Lovely pics all but that picture of you sitting on the bridge railing is my fave! You look fabulous.

You look beautiful, and so does Paris! Must take the boy over there this year. And WOW on the present — what a wonderful gift! Lucky lady! 🙂 xxx

I second the first noter–I would almost print and frame that one on the bridge (if I knew you in real life or something?!)–it’s photographically perfect! (Is that a word?) Also, the spiral staircase one is fun. I also love Lana Del Rey. Does she have a damn album out yet or what?

Merry Christmas! I got a nice watch too, but no where near the same league as yours! Lovely paris photos, giving me travel daydreams for 2012 Happy new year!

This looks SO WONDERFUL. ryn: It was actually via GChat, which is why I have the transcription of it.

ryn I think there are three songs on iTunes? I bought Blue Jeans and Video Games about a couple of months ago but then a third came out about a month ago, at least the video did… can’t remember what it’s called. Born to Die maybe?

The J12 watch is a sweet gift — Chanel while in Paris. Too cute. 🙂

These pictures and this entry make me so happy. Happy New Year, amazing woman! xoxoxo

ryn Yeah, my collection is probably close to a thousand if not more, but fortunately I’ve already read most of them–I just need to weed out the ones I haven’t read or haven’t finished. That IS weird about Lana Del Rey. I LOVE Blue Jeans. Now I want to do karaoke!!

The picture of you sitting on the bridge is just lovely!

Fab pictures! x

Damn, you look so gorgeous and glowy in all of those pics. LOVE! I will admit, I hate 99.9 percent of all reality tv shows but I can watch endless episodes of Millionaire Matchmaker. Guilty pleasure! I wish they would do a NOLA edition – all these old money trust fund kids, hah! Patti would go nuts.

gorgeous pics!! I was tempted to do Paris instead of Iceland but I need need need the Blue Lagoon & Northern Lights 🙂 Couldn’t read your friend’s OD 🙁

Sigh…. to just take a month and jet off to Paris. A girl can dream…

LOVE the one of you sitting on the ledge of the bridge. Those tights look cool!

great photos! So jealous! 🙂

Again, beautiful photos. Glad you had a wonderful holiday and you can take some time to enjoy.

Wow you guys are either really tall or standing on something. Mr Wrong and I had to squeeze the Eiffel tower in between the guard bars of the arc de triomphe in order to get our faces with it. That was annoying!!!

Happy New Year! 🙂

Can I please have those sunglasses? Great photos, especially the bridge shot.
Warning Comment
beautiful! I’m going to have to get there someday!

Gorgeous pictures! You look so pretty standing on the staircase! I really, really want to go back to Paris. I went when I was 15 and am dying to return as an adult. We sent Omaha Steaks this year, too. Makes a great gift and they’re a good value, too!

OMG. Gorgeous pics. Love the pic of you on the bridge. Pont Neuf I think. I’ve got to go back to Paris and with a man next time. It’s just too romantic to go alone or with a girl friend. So I was actually thinking of joining something like Millionaire matchmaker. I wish there was someone who gave you personal consulting and matching here. Meeting them at parties and Online is just not working out.

Happy New Year Satine!

Lovely pics. Because Paris is so close we have decided to go every year for the rest of our lives – even if it is just for the day.

Wow. Pretty shots. 🙂

Fantastic pics. I especially love Pont Something and the circular stairs pictures. I have been eyeing a David Yurman watch for about two years now, but have the same fear that if I had it, I would then lose or destroy it and be devastated. Also, every time I’ve added it to my cart and my mouse is hovering over the order button, I am reminded of a million renovations I’d rather spend money on…

…so it was particularly sweet of him to give you an extravagant watch as a gift because that takes some of the pressure off! Happy New Year, btw!

“I also bought us small plots of land in Scotland that allegedly come with title rights, so we can call ourselves Lord S and Lady Satine. Ha!” HAHA! That’s great! 🙂 I totally want to do this, too!
