Off To The Races

current book:
I finally read "The Hunger Games" books this weekend, aeons after everyone else in the Western world. They lived up to the hype though, and that is saying something I think.

current mood:
Happy, caffeinated, a little hungry.

current ~~shame-inducing guilty~~ pleasure/indulgence:
Haircut and deep condition this weekend…the scalp massage and sitting under the big dryer thing with creamy unguents on my strands was soooo niiiiiiiice.

current drink:
Water
Coffee

current movie:
We went to a screening of Haywire last Tuesday…awesome flick. We need more female James Bond type action heroines I think.

current fetish:
Trashy valentine-colored lingerie.

current wants:
A clear inbox
Everything off my to-do list
A promotion
20/20 vision
A meticulously renovated apartment
A body that can climb mountains and wear sample sizes

current needs:
To resist the urge to throw out everything I own
To stay healthy when everyone around seems to have the nastiest coughs

current bane of my existence:
People constantly taking photos at events. After the Haywire screening there was a Q&A with my beloved Gina Carano and the director Steven Soderburgh…looking around the room every third person had some sort of camera or phone up snapping photos. Why? Look with your eyes, not with your iPhone!

current disappointment:
I really wanted someone to ask Gina Carano what she thought about Cristiane Santos testing positive for steroids the week prior, not that it was a surprise but I was hoping she felt a bit better knowing that her loss was not on a fair playing field. All the questions were related to the movie though, so I refrained.

current color(s):
Black black black black black.

current excitement:
I’ve planned a couple of gift-y type things for S for Valentine’s Day and our upcoming anniversary…am bubbling over with excitement and can’t wait to see his face when he receives them.

current wish list:
An invite to the hotel party in Duran Duran’s Girl Panic video
For the next crazy insane thing I do to be less painful than I expect it to be

current outfit:
Black cashmere turtleneck dress, black tights, freshly waterproofed knee high boots. Which on me are not knee high at all, to my eternal annoyance.

current scent:
Flowerbomb, dove bar soap, babypowder deodorant.

Have you considered lasik? Jake was blind as a bat, and now doesn’t need glasses or contacts. He is the happiest!

I finished Mockingjay on Saturday. I really liked the Hunger Games trilogy as well – a lot more than I expected. Now to wait for the film!

I’ve yet to read The Hunger Games myself…But now that I have some free time I think I just might do that. I too would love a body that could climb mountains and wear anything 😉

The photo thing bothers me too. It’s nice to have pictures of course, but sometimes it’s nice to just look/observe/store the memory in your mind. But then Social Media rules dictate ‘pictures, or it didn’t happen’

ryn: I am more excited than I think I should be about the extensions. And I don’t know if they have any type of adult class for that. The thing is, with as much as I travel for work it makes it really hard to get involved in any type of class like that… a lot of the practices and classes happen during the week. :/
