Theme of the Week: Bucket List
This week’s topic is:
Have you ever created a Bucket List? If so, what are the top five things you want to do before you die?
Hmm I am not sure that I have ever really given serious or conscious thought to making a bucket list, but there are a few things I think I’d like to do before I die. Here are five of them…
1. Live to be 100 years old.
I think this would be cool and it is something I have wanted to do all my life. I even recall answering the "what do you want to be when you grow up?" question as a child by saying "A Hundred years old."
It has always been with me. I just have this feeling I will live a long life and get to be a ripe old age…*shrugs* I might be proven wrong, yet, but it’s not a bad thing to wish for, right?
2. Visit Canada
I love that the winter olympics this year are in Canada! I’ve been lapping up the scenery. It’s truly a beautiful country and one I really desire to see. Of course, I could always go back to see New Zealand, again. It’s similar terrain and I jokingly said to my partner, the other night that New Zealand is the poor man’s Canada. lol! Might get there someday again, too.
3. Secretly be friends (like real friends, not just twitter friends) with someone famous
This one might only happen if one of my kids, or their (yet to be born) kids becomes famous. One proviso, be famous in a positive way, please! I don’t wanna be the next Unabomber’s grandma or something!
4. Write and publish a best selling paperback novel
Well, this goes without saying! I have written and published a few books which sell okay, but they’re mostly ebooks. Would love to see my name on the stands at the local Borders and know that it’s my work and millions are reading it! Even ONE million copies sold would make me happy.
5. Own a horse
This one’s another lifelong ambition. Don’t really think it’s got much hope of happening now, but it’s still a nice one to have on my list. Even if it was a pony or miniature horse, too small to ride, I’d love the experience of having it, caring for it, and just being able to admire its beauty. I’ve been in love with horses as long as I can remember, but never had one of my own.
So there you have it. My bucket list. Nothing world shattering at all, just a few sweet pipe dreams that I like to think might happen someday.
Of course, writing that best seller would be one sure way to make sure 2 & 5 happen!
lol, have dreamed of having a horse in my yard all my lifelol, hasn’t happened but what a nice dream. Even read there are miniature horses somewhere. lol, Can we keep those like we keep dogs, as a pet? I will keep dreaming. Meanwhile, I collect horses, potholders, books, horse accessories,a nd I visit the saddlery once in a while. Last visit I got thesegreat buckets (different from household buckets). One side is flat on top. You can hang the bucket on the cellar wall, to hold tools etc, and it flat part fits just right against the wall , where a regular bucket would just stick all out there and be inconvenient. lol, yea, there you go horse trivia. visit a saddlery store and look around. You will find great stuff there. Another find there, a kind of cool ‘blue’ liquid, a whitener for clothing. (And you can make crystal salt gardens from this liquid also).
