Will it ever be summer?

Still no sign of summer. We had one warm sunny day on Wednesday so perhaps that was it! Wimbledon starts on Mondays so it’s sure to be raining for the next two weeks.

I am feeling brighter though. I got my summer window boxes done on Wednesday and the hanging baskets are looking lovely as the lobelia and fuschia love the rain. Unfortunately I have some bedding plants still in pots that are beginning to struggle, so I hope I can plant them soon.

We have another party this evening and I am feeling good so I will be going. Unfortuately it was going to be a lawn party with croquet and skittles but heavy rain is forcast at just about the time it starts, so I hope we will be able to go indoors.

I am now the proud owner of a laptop. The children clubbed together and bought me one for my birthday so that if my sciatica is troublesome I can use it on the sofa or take it to bed – such luxury!

I’ve heard from friends that they are having a real heatwave in the US. I wish they would send us some of their sunshine.
