Flying adventures
Nothing is as easy as it should.
I lost my license at the game yesterday. Luckily TSA didn’t make it too difficult on me. Still a pain
We were about 45 mins from Phoenix when it was announced that due to a crazy storm, including 90MPH winds at the airport, the Phoenix airport had shut down. We were diverting to Vegas.
One hour later, as we have been circling Vegas waiting for landing clearance, we are told that Vegas has shut down to incoming diverted flights due to being overwhelmed by diversions and we are now headed to Ontario.
Another hour later and I’m standing in one of the longest airport lines of my life. It took me 3 hours to get to the front of the line. I couldn’t get a flight until noon today. Thankfully they handed out hotel vouchers. They offered a taxi voucher as well….but it was so long to wait, I ordered a Lyft.
I faced another, shorter line, upon arriving to the hotel. I crawled into the shower for one of the top 5 most satisfying showers of my life, as I hit being awake for 25 hours.
I woke up after 3.5 hours feeling like I’d slept for 8! Lol 😆 I snoozed another 40 mins or so and started my day.
We are on the final decent to Phoenix now. I need to quickly change clothing and get to the office. We have a team baseball outing tonight….so I expect to be up very very late again.
While everything went NOT according to plan last night, Eric made me feel good about things. I am independent and don’t need to be taken care of, but I adore that he cares about me and my safety. He stayed up messaging with me for most of my ordeal. I told him when I got to Ontario to sleep for a bit since he had training at 8am. He asked “Ok please text me when you get to your hotel room!” I promised to update him. He said “I need to know that you’re safe ok?” Just knowing how much he cares and wants to be sure I’m okay, made the shitshow easier.
