Not to be all gangster, but it’s been a good day

So. It’s been a helluva week.

I talked to our on-site attorney a minimum of eight times this week – mostly about my name being all over a fucking ridiculous class-action law suit filed in WASHINGTON STATE against the company I work for.

Well, the company I for until I give my two weeks notice on Monday.

Hell yeah, bitches – I got the job. And to make it even better, I got the phone call regarding the offer during my office Christmas party on Friday afternoon. I saw the missed call, but no voice mail, was feeling assertive so I called the guy back and he said something like “well, I wanted to talk to you about a job offer but if you’re busy …”

I think I might have screamed a little. Seriously. If my fucking phone didn’t cost so much I probably would have dropped it, I was that shocked.

They had almost 300 people apply for this job, and they only interviewed TWELVE in person. And they picked ME. Holy crap, it’s like I won a prize. Oh wait – I DID!!

Yay me. **giggle**

I’ll talk to the guy who will be my immediate supervisor on Monday about my start date and blah blah blah, but the base fact is that I am going to be making roughly $11k a year more than I am now and — more importantly — will be doing something that challenges me and that I think I will really really like. I’ll miss my current coworkers, but life goes on.

Plus, since I will be deposed for this stupid class-action suit I’m sure I’ll be back here often. Grrr. It’s not just the deposition; it’s the trial prep and all that other miserable bullshit and blahblahblah.

Anyway.

New job, new start, new man.

OK, so … online dating can suck. As evidenced by St Paul AND the Chef. They’re both fucktards, but I kept up a brave front and met a third prospect, and I think there’s a bit of a score here. He’s not bad looking, he has a good job, GREAT sense of humor and he might be a little visually impaired because he thinks I’m beautiful and sexy.

And not to minimize my wants and needs, but I find him very attractive – not all looks, but there’s just that something there that I really like.

Hell, I’ll take it. I don’t need Mr. 100% … Mr. 85% is good by me as long as it’s the RIGHT 85%.

And oh good lord, he lives pretty close to where I’ll be working.

It’s like everything is falling together.

It’s been a helluva week, but a good week nonetheless.
