there are days when it *feels* like i’ve been pregnant ‘fovever.’    but truly, this pegnancy has been going by really fast and i’m either already in the third trimester or about to hit it, depending on which source I look at.

there’s this:  i’m 27 weeks and 3 days along.  average gestation for a first time mom is 41 weeks and 1 day  (as opposed to 40 weeks, which is what everything is based on)   so i am assuming i still have 13 weeks and 5 days left until I get to meet our little man.    and again, this either feels like f-o-r-e-v-e-r, or it feels like OMG, only 13 weeks left!?!    so, true to my pisces nature, i’m always going back and forth.

i had a whirlwind trip to NY this week to present the findings of our latest research project to an extremely high maintainence, fast-paced client team.  i was equal parts apathetic and terrified to present to this team, but it ended up going AWESOME and we recieved some amazing accolades from the CEO of the company who told us in the meeting that the work "exceeded all of his expectations."   i mean, like, wow.    

it was such.a.relief.

then, liana managed to get my return flight bumped up to 1st class so not only was i mentally on cloud nine, i was also physically sitting on a cloud as i flew back to LA.    bliss.   

before i forget, and for posterity’s sake, i need to say that last weekend’s palm desert getaway was fabulous.  I spent a good chunk of the weekend in my swimsuit and LOVED it.   it was crazy hot in the desert, per usual, but we stayed in the pool the majority of the time and it felt so good to be immersed in water, lazily floating around with no agenda, for a few days.    i can’t wait to go back to the desert for our babymoon in a few weeks.

that suit is going to get another workout this weekend as aaron and i head to Berkley, CA for (hopefully) my last gig in the field before i self-impose a work traveling hiatus.   we’re staying at a resort with lots of pools and spa amenities, which is great.    of the three days we’re there, i work two entire days, so my "free" time will be limited, but i will take any opportunity to put this growing belly in a pool.   letmetellyasomethin’.

so once we return from Northern Cali, we’re jumping on a plane to minneapolis for some baby showers, a wedding and some good old-fashioned midwestern summertime fun.   we’ll be there a week and then, when we return, we will FINALLY be moving back into our remodeled home and NESTING will finally take place.

have i mentioned that we will have been displaced from our home for SIX ENTIRE WEEKS by the time we get back in?    it’s crazy to me how long we’ve been ‘homeless’ but at the same time multiple trips, hectic work schedules and general LIFE STUFFS have kept us so busy that it’s literally flying by.

There will be a shift in cadence that will make life seem much more manageable soon, but i’m actually loving the fact that our busy-ness distracts me from the fact that i’ve now gained 20+ lbs and there’s still maybe 10+ more to gain.    amazing that this 5’0 frame can handle all of this extra weight.   but it’s amazing and i do love being pregnant with this little guy.   i love him so much, i can’t wait to actually meet him face to face.   although i already feel like i know him…
