Work related happenings

1. I am inching closer to being able to go to S. Korea next summer. My boss emailed the professor there he wants me to work with, and he responded very favorably. My boss said he seemed to be honored, in fact. He CC’d all his students on his reply.

By the way, I think I wrote an entry about this months back, but in case I didn’t (or in case you aren’t hanging onto every detail of my life), I’m applying for a National Science Foundation program to go to Korea next summer for two months.

2. My boss is taking an extended vacation for Thanksgiving, and is leaving it up to us to cover his class next week. I get to lecture on optimization. I’m cautiously excited about it.
