Sunday evening I was all ready to write a long entry, full of detail and maybe including a few pictures. Of course OD was out of action. Now has been my first oppertunity to get online and my enthusiasm has disapeared.
So yes, sunday, a full day off work. It was great not to have to set the alarm, although I did hear my son get up at 6.30 for his paper round, I actually went back to sleep until my daughter woke me at 7.45. But some as I usually get up at 6.15 every morning it was kind of a lay in. I had some presents and cards to open (oh it was my bday hehe) then we decided to call into a village a few miles away, where they were having a Dickens Style christmas market. Wasn’t actually my idea, the in laws have been talking about it for the past few years, and so hubby thought we would go as his mum thought my daughter would love to see everyone dressed up in the old costumes. We got there and it was absolutely heaving with people. There weren’t even that many people dressed up, I couldn’t handle being in the crowds so we kept to the outside of the market. I did try some roasted chestnuts, £1.50 for a little cup of them, I think there were about 5 chestnuts. I quite liked them, but they are a lot of hard work for not a lot of treat! Did also buy a lovely christmas wreath for the front door.
After lunch we all helped to decorate the christmas tree which was good fun. My daughter decorated the bottom part and the lads did the top (pointing out that I was too little to reach the top!) So I did the middle bit! Assisted with a couple of glasses of sherry, I only ever drink sherry at christmas, and we all had hot mince pies – yum.
For dinner hubby had bought a load frozen chinese food that I had to cook. We ate the meal in ‘courses’ cus everything took longer to cook than it said and there is only so much oven space I have. He had also bought a rather large chocolate and toffee gateux, which was more like a mousse with a thin layer of sponge, but it was tasty. After dinner and once my daughter was in bed we watched a film that we recorded a while back ‘from hell’ with johnny depp – all about the jack the ripper murders. It’s a little odd, but loosely based on events of the time and rumors. Actually quite beliveable 😉
That was my day then.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, work in the morning, calling in to see a friend and then after lunch my son is hoping to get his brace removed, and we also have his parents evening at school. It’s the first time I won’t be collecting my daughter from school, my mil finally gets her wish!
And also I know I am going to be thinking about a whole lot of other stuff that is going on for someone else tomorrow and hoping everything goes ok.
Will leave it at that for now
Love and blessings xxx
