Woke up this morning to our first sprinkling of snow – actual snow, not just a heavy frost! My son went out and did his paper round and said it was quite slippy – oh joy! To be honest I have never been a lover of snow. Even as a kid, when lots of kids were out on sledges or snowball fighting – I was quite content to just stay in the warm and watch! I was always very prone to falling over in the snow, but obviously that is something I really want to avoid doing now!
Anyway I’m taking my daughter along to the doctor this morning. Her teacher commented yesterday that she really seemed to be struggling and she had complained about her ears hurting. I gave her some calpol when she got home which seemed to help, but she said this morning that her ears weren’t right. So just want to check if she has an infection, to be on the safe side.
My eldest son is going on a school trip today. It is a reward for getting good grades in his subjects. The students with effort grades above 4.5 (max is 5) are being taken to Milton Keynes for a christmas shopping trip. Bonus was that the school paid for the bus, so there was no cost to the parents. He has been given some money from us so that he can actually choose a top that he wants, on the understanding that he gives it to me when he gets home so I can wrap it up lol. Silly but he won’t really have much to open on christmas morning otherwise as the main part of his christmas/birthday present was his bike. Anyway, they won’t be back at school till 6.30, so I’m sure he will have a good time.
Right better go ring the school, more later.
i know what you mean about snow. i don’t much care for it either. i’ve lived in florida… no snow. tennessee… a little snow in the towns mostly in the mountains. colorado… lots of snow. and now, i’m in new hampshire… lots of snow. if i could i’d move back to tennessee. there are all 4 seasons there but very little. i stay inside as much as i can. poor little girl… i hope she doesn’t haveand ear infection. i’m sure your son will have a blast. take care,

Just waiting now for the first flakes – hail, yes, which is slippy enough when it sticks on roads and pavements. Maybe the Daily Express was right in its forecast – let’s hope not.
