Hmmm first entry of the year – where to start?
Christmas was ok. My daughter had fun, she enjoyed her presents, and she was well enough to eat quite well. My lads had fun too, they ate a whole lot of food! I had some nice presents, dinner went ok. My in laws did stay a little too late for my liking on christmas day. Boxing day was a little wearing to be honest. I was basically exhausted. Didn’t have much help with anything over the holidays and I was up and out for work every morning and evening and although hubby was home, he basically did bugger all. The one thing he did do was to take my daughter to the panto. We were unable to get tickets for the 3 of us, so I let him take her as a father/daughter thing. She loved it! I am hoping to take her to see the tinkerbell film at the cinema either tomorrow or friday.
Our new years eve went differently to planned. We were meant to be meeting up at our friends, with the other couple we usually meet with. Unfortunately they went down with flu, so in the morning it was cancelled. So we suggested that the other couple come to us, so there was a mad dash to buy party food, they also bought some things they had over from christmas, and we managed to have a lovely evening. We turned on the tv at 12 and just about saw the impressive fireworks in London.
As to what happens now. Our original plan was to pop down to wales this saturday, just stay over night and come home sunday. Would be a flying visit, but we still get to see everyone and exchange presents. Then a week ago hubby found out that he had to travel to Cardiiff on the 2nd so he was able to do some training, and then move to Redding to do another training session. So it made sense that we would all travel with him today, he could re join us on friday and then travel back on saturday. This way we get to spend more time with my mum. However when I rang her to explain the situation and ask if it would be ok, her first reaction was ‘oh but your sister was going to have dinner with us on sunday before you leave’ grrrr. I will withold my thoughts. Anyway she was fine with that plan. I spoke to her nye and she sounded awful. She had had a cold when I spoke to her a before christmas, and she was cooking dinner for 13 people on new years day. She thought it was her worst day and she was sure she would feel better in the morning. However, 7.15am this morning she rang and told us not to come down as she was feeling a lot worse, giddy whenever she stood, painful aches. I did suggest she call the dr out, but she said she would just go back to bed and see how things went. I sent a txt to my sister to make sure she went to check on her. There isn’t a lot more I can do. If I had been able to go down on my one I probably would have, but I can’t so that’s that.,
The kids were quite disapointed not to be going down, but I think our next oppertunity will be later this month. It’s mum’s birthday on the 20th so I guess we will aim for that. Hubby has made it to Cardiff anyway and he said the room he is in is about as big as our whole house! He has a nice view of the city too. He has had to travel a bit with this training thing. He is actually training people all over the place with this new computer system, and he’s also been getting calls from people with queries, he has been emailed by some of the big bosses asking questions too, and they have thanked him for all he is doing. Hubby is hoping it will mean a promotion, but in the meantime he is getting a lot more stressed and I’m wondering if it’s actually worth it.
Tonight is the first time I have had chance to do a little online stuff. I’m glad to have a couple of days when I don’t have to get up early, time to get things sorted before the kids go back to school. I get time to read a bit (had a new book for christmas!) and just spend some time with the kids.
Anyway, time for bed 🙂
Love and blessings xx
I hope your mum feels better soon. And I hope she had help from some of the 12 others on Christmas day! It sounds as though she has flu. X

Even superwoman needs some time to relax and kick back, enjoy! Glad to read you had a good time over the holidays, even if it was busy for you. Take good care,

Happy New Years! I hope you get some nice quiet time now. And that your mom feels better. There’s a lot of flu around here too.
