How are your knees?
I shall tell you. They have tennis ball sized purple bruises on them with the left one having a slightly bigger one than the right. The left one was also leaking blood; a conservative estimate would be a lost gallon or so. Yep, I fell over (actually up a kerb) and landed on my knees. I was delivering Christmas presents to Diane and Rolph (her other half); the big council recycling bag in which I was carrying them caught on the kerb, causing me to trip over the kerb instead of stepping up it. I went scooting forward on my knees, the presents went flying and Diane came rushing out ready to practice her recently updated first aid on me. Luckily, the only damaged present was the one I bought her rubbish cat and the only damaged bits of me were my knees and hands.
We played our obligatory game of Monopoly; the Spiderman version this time. I seriously cannot understand why I consistently lose at what is nothing more than a game of chance. I started one of my assignments, but didn’t get into it or get much done. Lauren called me; she needed someone to talk to too. She manages a home in Devon for people with disabilities and her Christmas Day had been spent with one of the residents who was dying. He eventually died late afternoon.
My garden is very bare and chilly looking. I spent time out there with my camera; each year the photos are very different. This year, although cold, it was sunny and the long shadows and light/dark contrasts made the photos much more interesting. I didn’t take many though; it wasn’t until later when I looked at them on the computer that I realised they were so different to all the previous December 26th ones. I wished too that I’d got some more bulbs to plant. Something different and new for the new year .
I’ll visit Emma, Chris and Jack during the weekend. It’ll do me good. I need conversation.
It’s approaching midnight now. Soon “Christmas Day and Boxing Day” will be officially over and I’ll be glad.
I bashed my left knee a good one two weeks ago (on a doorframe, of all things) and it still hurts. So you have my empathy. Christmas wasn’t the to-be-dreaded thing I was expecting this year. It was one of the better ones.

OUCH! How terrible to have a fall like that one. I hope it gets better soon. As for your friend, it is wonderful that there are people in the world that do for others. Nobody should have to die alone.

Ouch! I’ve done that a few times and I know those kind of scrapes hurt like heck. RYN: I’ll bet there are more than a few of us who feel that way.

Oh ouch!! I hope your knees don’t like being purple tennis balls and are working at getting back to normal in the shortest possible time.

Ouch! Poor Lauren. It was good that you were there for her. Yes, it’s nice when these big events are finally over.
