Help please – any computery types

First of all, I don’t have a computer problem… I just want advice or suggestions.

I mentioned before that one of the young people I work with has bought a MacBook Pro with money she fundraised. What she didn’t do was get finance for software. So can anyone please recommend cheap or (preferably) free software to use on a Mac?

I’ve already downloaded Neo Office, but is there any photo editing software that’s good? Anything to create pdf files? Etc., etc.

http://www.apple.com/downloads/ there are a LOT of things there, its a lot to wade through, and a lot of it is commmerical software (at commerical prices) but keep digging and you start finding the freeware and shareware and check out http://www.mupromo.com/ for good deals on cheap software.

This helps me too. I’m starting to get to know my Apple a bit more, and hating it a bit less, but it is very limited on the software and I resent having to pay such high prices for Microsoft office (so I don’t have it on there any more as the trial version has run out). Very annoying though, being as tight as I am about such things! I’m going to investigate the sites your lovely favourites have provided!
