Boring, but I’m determined to keep posting entries
Life is chugging on fairly quietly.
I passed on the various advice (thank you all so much) to Emma and she was more than pleased that people cared enough to make suggestions about dealing with her OCD. As much as anything, I think she needed reassurance that it’s not making her a bad mum – which it’s not. I haven’t heard from her for a couple of days, so hopefully that means she’s not as low as earlier.
The absolutely-horrible-Monday group were slightly improved this week, as Jackie and I split them into two separate groups and taught them in separate rooms. We couldn’t entirely separate the ones that bounce off each other, as this group’s dynamics are so horrible (sorry for repeat of word “horrible”, but it’s the only one that adequately describes this group) that only total isolation of each young person would really help!
So apart from one young person that was sent home and one that walked out, they all completed their assignments. Not that they’re all that taxing… but completion is a result!
Other job. The new youth councillors had their inaugural meeting this week. All fresh faced, spotty and unsure of themselves – exactly the same as this time last year. Sometimes I think maybe it’s time to move on.
Talking of which, I found what looks like a perfect job for me – working to develop the curriculum, accreditations and outcomes for another youth service; good money and a job I know I would enjoy. Trouble is, it’s in a London borough, and I really don’t want to travel into London every day – especially as some of the work would involve occasionally visiting their evening clubs.
I’ve printed off the job description anyway, so I can look and “what if?” for a little while.
Still no contact from daughter, but I have seen her sign into MSN once. So she’s obviously around but without regular access to a computer. It’s amazing how much better I feel, having seen just that one sign-in.
Isn’t our weather weird? England’s always been damp and often grey, but this flooding we’re getting again is a whole new level of bad weather. I have a walk I sometimes take, at lunchtimes, when I want to do a couple of isolated miles and I just haven’t been able to because the ground is so muddy. Tramping the streets of my urban town is not the same at all – and even some of the drains there aren’t working well!
We need to set up a global size chute, so that our excess rain can go to Arbi’s garden!
Hey, London is FAB! I’d travel to London every day for the right job. Truly. And then we could meet up for lunchies!

I’m all for that global-sized chute!! Could you organise it ito flow nto our local reservoir, which 20 years ago used to regularly overflow but for the last several years has been at 0.5% capacity? I’d hate to see the remains of my garden sailing off down the road under the onslaught of your flood! *grin*I’m so glad you’ve seen evidence that your daughter’s still around. And that job certainlysounds worth pondering.

I hope that your daughter contacts you soon. I think that it was great that you at least saw her on line.
