Beauty and the Beast

Ladies and gentlefolk, may I introduce to you………..BEAUTY!

Bit of a story behind the name ( surprise, surprise). I’d been trying for a couple of days to think of a suitable name for the new bike. My Harley Softail was called Sophie (Softail) and I was trying to think of one that went with Triumph Trophy, but all the ones we came up with just made me think of “Essex Girls” which I didn’t think really fitted. Not that I’ve got anything against Essex girls, but over here they have a, most likely inappropriate, reputation of being dizzy blondes!
Anyway, my daughter came round to see the new bike and simply said “She’s a beauty, dad”. And it was one of those KER-LANG moments as the penny dropped. You see, we’d already named Lee’s new car “The Beast” so it was SO appropriate that we called the bike Beauty. And there ya go, that was it.
She’s a lovely bike, I’m really happy with her. I have had to change my riding style quite a bit. Obviously the riding position is different, but the handlebars are narrower, the engine revs higher and it’s also a hell of a lot quieter (Should please the neighbours when I go to work at 0600 in a morning!) I’ve only done about 60 miles on her but have just about got used to her. Acceleration is quicker and it’s very easy to hit illegal speeds before you know it!. The screen is much higher and gives a lot more protection than the windshield on the Harley. I do miss the Harley, I always will, and I do hope to be in a position someday to get another and justify it sitting in the garage, unless we retire to Florida or something! LOL
Anyway, the photos. Also including some of Lee’s car.

Good ol’ British Iron!

Beauty and the lesser Beast LOL!

Such a poser!

Beauty and the real Beast.

The Beast.

ker-lang?? .. I’ve never heard that before.. well! I learn something new everyday! ha ha ha! 😛 I have to say.. I’m kind of itching for a bike… *le sigh* It seems crazy.. because anyone who would know me would say “are you NUTS?” .. not just because its a motorcycle but also because.. I don’t exactly have the greatest reputation for always being Present. My mind wanders.. I’m a bit of a klutz.. rather “spacey” .. I float around when I walk.. however, this could be an excellent opportunity to sharpen those skills… It scares me a bit.. but I really miss those rides.. a lot.. i’m a little partial to BMW bikes and definitely NOT a harley fan 😛 Our tastes are quite different.. but i think the triumph is respectable! ha ha! (as if I know anything).. it would give me a chance to really learn mechanics.. which i have found fascinating, lately.
