This is going to sound really shitty

I’ll apologize up front to anyone that this offends.

Yeah, it’s been a long time again. I’m damned surprised the account is still active. Yet, there’s a reason why I don’t write like I used to. My life, for the most part, has turned boring. I keep to the same routine day after day, and since this is a retelling of my life in a nutshell, I felt retelling the same thing time after time again just didn’t bear repeating.

Now for the shitty part:

Today is Veteran’s Day. And I applaud any man or woman that’s willing to sacrifice time, and possibly life, to defend America but that’s not what I’m going to talk about. I’m going to talk about my time in the military.

I spent about 3 years and 6 months as an active duty United State Navy enlisted sailor. And I can tell you that, without a single bit of doubt, that I wish I had every second of that time back. I learned nothing from my time in the Navy. All the knowledge I use today was gleaned from OJT and simple self interest that allowed me to learn about computers. I hated my time in the Navy. And, when it comes time to celebrate Veteran’s Day and they want me to stand for my service, I don’t.

Yeah, that sounds really shitty but, you know, that’s MY choice. If you served, good for you. I don’t “salute” you but you have my admiration because you did something and are proud of it. The difference with me is that I did it but I could care less about it afterward.
