The Continuing Saga

There are times when this seems to be a chore to me. Writing an entry, that is. *insert whiney voice here* I don’t wannnnnnna write.

But, I do. Want to write. It’s just that, in the overall scheme of things, I can’t seem to get my head wrapped around the words…or the words wrapped around my head…anymore.

I have news though.

When I changed jobs and move to Marten Transport, LLC and began driving a truck for this company, I was required – just like every other truck driving job I’ve had – to get a physical. It basically consists of blood pressure check, urinalysis (with a sugar check), turn-your-head-and-cough, and weight. Um, yeah, well, everything was fine…except my weight.

It’s official and unfortunate, but I weighed in at the heaviest I’ve ever scaled –

304 pounds.

That was on June 19th.

Shortly after that, I headed to Dallas, picked up my son and went on down the road. When I went home, I took him to Memphis so he could go to his family thing with his mother and he didn’t come back on the road with me.

What I decided was that it was time…well, PAST time…for me to go on a diet. So, I started dieting. Low carb diet, but not quite Atkins. I am limiting myself to 30 grams of net carbs per day. I started this about the 7th of July.

On the 1st of August, I went to my doctor to get my blood pressure medicine refilled and, of course, the nurse weighed me. I lost 10 pounds since I started my diet. I was thrilled. The doctor was happy about it too and says that I’m well on my way to becoming a healthier me if I keep it up.

Needless to say, I will be keeping it up. I am going to eventually get down to my goal weight of 220 pounds. That leaves 74 pounds to go and I might just look like this again:

Instead of this:

I haven’t kept up with this site in the least, which means that I haven’t kept up with my favorites. I’ve been trying to spread myself too think, I guess, with visits to *gasp* other sites and it’s very difficult for me to put my concentration into more than one thing at a time. I am a typical man.

Regarding my cell phone bill, I was able to get AT&T to remove all of the charges that my son had accrued with his multiple daily visits to the World Wide Web on his phone. However, that didn’t stop me from taking his phone away. He is now phone-less and, unfortunately for us both, he will remain so.

The nice car that we got for Cody isn’t so nice anymore. He has created more damage to the car by going out joy riding when he wasn’t supposed to be. Apparently, he hit a metal pole and created this damage:

Till Next Time,
Blessings!

Great job on weightloss! Maybe I should try that! Good deal on getting the phone charges taken care of, sometimes corporate companies can be nice. And you know, in that first pic of you, I swear that looks like my Jeep in the background! LOL

More than the weight loss, I am proud of you for being so open and honest about your weight here where it isn’t a necessity. Trust me I know how it feels to put that kind of personal statistic Out There. Keep it up and you’ll be back to Good Health! (((HUGS))) to you My Friend! 🙂
