Some Goings On
I have truly lost my ability to put into words what is going through my head. I wonder if this is a side effect of seeing a therapist professionally instead of relying on you people to clear my head of all of the garbage that zips through it on a daily basis. It very well could be.
A few things going on that are noteworthy and I will go through each of them one by one.
– My son has lost his phone privileges.
This is a relatively new thing in the fact that it happened just yesterday. To give some back story on this around the first of May, I went to the Dallas area, met up with my ex-wife and youngest son (the only one that would talk to me at the time) and headed directly to the AT&T store and I purchased a phone and added him to my plan. I proceeded to tell him the rules involved with having the phone, i.e. no Internet access, no calling anyone not on AT&T and so forth, and he agreed to the rules.
Yesterday, I went online to look at a few things on my AT&T account and about had a heart attack. My bill for last month was almost $1,100! Needless to say, I called AT&T immediately, determined what had happened and then called my ex and told her to remove the phone from his possession.
See, it seems that the AT&T Smart Limits that I put onto the phone did not do what I told it would do. I was told that if I did this one particular thing, the internet would not work on the phone. Turns out, I was incorrect. There was over $750 worth of Internet usage on his line last month. And thats not counting what has been used this month so far. I have a prescription for nitro pills for angina wheres my prescription!?
– My daughter has moved back to Oxford.
Another relatively new development here also. She and her boyfriend/fiancé called in quits and shes now living with us, along with two children. She was, of course, devastated but seems to have gotten over it relatively quickly this time. While Im am not particularly pleased with the fact that I will be going home to a loud household, I am looking forward to spending some time with my grandchildren. Oh man, did I actually write that out? Im getting old.
– My sister has issues.
This past Thursday, my baby sister, Amanda, had surgery to remove her colon due to the fact that she had ulcerated colitis that was aggravated by the fact that she took Excedrin like she was eating Tic-Tacs. Luckily enough for her that the ulcerations hadnt reached other areas of her anatomy and she will be going through another surgery in about 6 months to reattach her small intestines to wherever they are going to reattach them to. In the meantime, she will have to use and wear a colostomy bag (blech). I feel for her but, and this is not just my opinion, she brought this onto herself by giving herself headaches by worrying about everything. It seems, that she hasnt had a headache since being put into the hospital because she seems to have other things to worry about rather than her head. My mother has been keeping me abreast of the developments with my sister and concurs with me that perhaps Im not the only one in need of a therapist.
– My stepson has gotten a car.
We were very lucky to find a pretty decent 1998 Mazda 626 with 116,000 miles on it for $2,700 for Cody. Hes very pleased with the fact that hes got a car and he also has a job to carry him through the summer.
Here are some pictures of the car:
It just needs a paint job on the hood and some brakes. Something was said about struts also but I havent heard any more on that matter.
– My wife refuses to get a mammogram.
Oh yeah, 46 years old in about 2 and a half weeks and has not yet had a mammogram at all. Of course, I should be surprised in the least as it took me 6 or 7 years of absolutely nagging her to the point of screaming (her, not me) to go to the doctor to get a physical and then to her OB/GYN doctor for the other female tests that should be done yearly.
So, for those of you who read me and agree with me that she should go get the mammogram and get it ASAP (Jules, Bella, Susu, anyone affected by breast cancer directly or indirectly), please go to THIS DIARY and start nagging her for me also. Im about nagged out.
– And now, me.
This says it all.
Till Next Time,
Blessings!

Random noter here. Oh my freaking GOD!! I will KILL my kids if they ever rack up that much on the phone. What a NIGHTMARE!!! You’re so calm about it.

Yeah, she needs to at least get a full checkup at least once ev. 2 yrs. And at 46, it’s time for her to get a baseline mammo done. Tell her it really isn’t that bad! It’s always better to be safe than sorry! And also tell her, that the checkups and stuff should be covered 100% under her wellness portion of her insurance!

Can’t you somehow prove that you TRIED to put the internet restriction on the phone and have them remove SOME of the charges since their restrictions didn’t work?? Nag note left.
