Personal Traits Challenge – Day 3 and other things
In the continuing saga of listing my personal traits according to the challenge, here goes this day’s listing. But first, the rules!
Write ten positive things about yourself, every day, for seven days, and post them in a Public Entry.
There are rules, of course. You want to think positively about yourself, so the statements all have to be positive in voice. This means no words like “no”, “not”, or any contraction ending in “n’t”. So, if one thing you want to talk about is your driving habits, then instead of saying “I didn’t speed today” you should say “I drove at or below the speed limit all day”.
It can be an overall personal trait that you admire about yourself, or a small personal triumph, such as the driving example above, but it needs to be about you, and it needs to be positive. It can be in the past, but it should be in the present as much as possible. And it has to be on public! NO hiding behind favorites-only entries. You can censor names of people and places for privacy’s sake, but you deserve to crow about yourself on your diary, and you deserve to have people read about it.
So, there’s the challenge. I encourage you, at the end of the week, to tag favorites with the assignment as well. It’s not bragging when someone asks you to do it!
1. I am taking time to stop and visit with my parents.
2. I was able to come up with at least one, now two, to put on this list.
3. Even though I feel like it at times, I have resisted the urge to run cars off the road.
4. I got confirmation from the company I am moving to that they definitely want to hire me at 39 cpm.
5. I am good with computers. Good, not great.
6. I am good with animals.
7. After contemplating for a good 30 minutes, I can come up with one more than will embarrass my wife I am an exceptional lover.
Seven is all you get today too. And it happens to be the most I’ve put up to date which is surprising because I haven’t really felt as if there’s anything positive about me at this point and time.
That’s really cool how concerned you are about using up fuel. What speed is best for big trucks? I’ve seen info recently that a number of cars (in general) get the best MPH at 35! Not 55! That surprised me
Kaly
That surprises me also. But, the best fuel mileage for trucks on the road actually comes in between 62 and 64 miles per hour. I set my own personal speed this way 57 m.p.h. in states that are 55 and 60. 63 m.p.h. in states that are 65 and higher. That usually means I’m being passed at a high rate of speed by trucks and cars alike.
I’m still trying to figure out why he doesn’t have the guts to sing on a stage, when he did in high school, in front of an auditorium FULL of people!!!…
lasergirl
Yeah, yeah, whatever. Remember though, I was on stage with a BUNCH of people at the same time and my particular voice was drowned out by others.
And, don’t make me double dog dare you to sing karaoke sometime! =-)
Ciao!Bella
Double dog dare me all you want, there’s no way I’m getting on stage without a massive intake of alcohol beforehand and, hate to say it, I don’t handle my alcohol well anymore. Age does that to you.
Speaking of age, I found a quote that those of us should remember when we complain about getting older.
I mean if my muscles ache, it’s because I’ve used ’em. It’s hard for me to walk up them steps now, its ‘cuz I walked up ’em every night to lay next to a man who loved me. I got a few wrinkles here and there, but I’ve layed under thousands of skies with sunny days. I look and feel this way, well cuz I drank and I smoked. I lived and I loved, danced, sang, sweat and screwed my way thorough a pretty damn good life if you ask me. Getting old ain’t bad Ben. Getting old, that’s earned.

And, one other thing for you if you’ve made it this far. I hope you enjoy it.
Till Next Time,
Blessings!

FEELING positive about ourselves and ACKNOWLEDGING the positives about ourselves are two different things my friend. I am so very proud of you for sticking with this and increasing on what you’re acknowledging each and every day.
