Personal Traits Challenge
Picture Entry One Back
Well now, let see if I can do this thing that Julianne tagged me for. Here are the rules:
Write ten positive things about yourself, every day, for seven days, and post them in a Public Entry.
There are rules, of course. You want to think positively about yourself, so the statements all have to be positive in voice. This means no words like “no”, “not”, or any contraction ending in “n’t”. So, if one thing you want to talk about is your driving habits, then instead of saying “I didn’t speed today” you should say “I drove at or below the speed limit all day”.
It can be an overall personal trait that you admire about yourself, or a small personal triumph, such as the driving example above, but it needs to be about you, and it needs to be positive. It can be in the past, but it should be in the present as much as possible. And it has to be on public! NO hiding behind favorites-only entries. You can censor names of people and places for privacy’s sake, but you deserve to crow about yourself on your diary, and you deserve to have people read about it.
So, there’s the challenge. I encourage you, at the end of the week, to tag favorites with the assignment as well. It’s not bragging when someone asks you to do it!

5. I do my best to keep my speed down to conserve fuel and, hence, oil. Plus, it keeps my fuel costs down.
That’s all I can really think of. Am I out of the club or will I get that spanking? LOL
In other news, after a couple of long conversations (both on the phone and in IM), I have come to the conclusion that I am going to seek the services of a psychiatrist or psychologist. While I know people would probably disagree with me, I believe there’s something wrong somewhere in my head. Talking to someone that doesn’t have a vested interest in my life might go a long way towards helping me resolve whatever is wrong with me. I mean, I laugh at nothing sometimes, I cry at the drop of a hat at others and I’ve argued with myself on more than one occasion. And I don’t mean just a minor argument either, I mean I’ve stood at the mirror in the shower at a truck stop yelling at myself and answering myself back in the same tones. Then there are the times I’m just sitting in the restaurant and just start cussing for no reason. That’s gotta be crazy in one way or another.

Nothing wrong with seeking help if you need it – I really hope it helps you work through the issues. I will let you know sometimes it’s hard to find a good doctor though so good luck. Just found you at random on the front page – my girlfriend is a truck driver 🙂

hey- going to a psychologist cant hurt, worse comes to worse you dont like it and you try another one, or another method!

I think that BOTH doing this challenge and seeking the counsel of a psychologist are good things for you. By the way, go for a psychologist. They’re the talk therapists. Psychiatrists are largely for diagnosing psychological conditions that require medication and monitoring those meds.

That’s really cool how concerned you are about using up fuel. What speed is best for big trucks? I’ve seen info recently that a number of cars (in general) get the best MPH at 35! Not 55! That surprised me. I agree it’s important to have someone to talk to, like a therapist or counselor, every now and then. It can really be a helpful touchstone, especially when you’re in transition. I hope youfind someone you really like who can be of help!
