If I can just get my stuff straight…

It’s been awhile again. As always, it seems that when something significant happens in my life, I tend to back away from this website for some reason. And, boy howdy, there’s been a lot going on recently.

Regarding my cat, I was unable to find a home for her and she remains at home for the time being. According to Gina, she is behaving herself although breaking her of the habit of wanting people food is, of course, a hard habit to break a cat of. But, she remains within my home and has adopted Gina as her new owner. Gina says she loves all over her.

I have switched companies and am not longer in the employ of Perkins Specialized Transportation. The transition went smooth enough with just a couple of minor bumps – mainly from my dispatcher who decided that I wasn’t worth the effort anymore. He sort of pouted and sulked on me. Otherwise, everyone that I talked to in the process of leaving Perkins was supportive and understood the reasoning behind my departure. I even got privy to some not-for-general-consumption information that, and I’ll share with ya’ll, it looks as if Perkins is on their way out of business. Almost 2 months without a profit and people are leaving left and right. There were 7 empty trucks at the main office and they were preparing to go get two more abandoned trucks. And, they are saying there were about 25 empty trucks at the shop in Huntingburg. Not good for sure.

The new company seems decent enough, even though I’ve had a few issues getting used to the QualComm again. I really hate that piece of equipment. But, it’s a small price to pay for not having to pay for the fuel anymore and having a paycheck on a weekly basis rather than an “every now and then” basis. And one reason why this company seems decent enough is that even with me just starting, I was able to go to the Dallas area and get my son and bring him on the road with me. And that’s another thing altogether.

Jason is, well, a typical 12 year old boy. Active, hyperactive, and easily bored. It’s been two days now and he’s exhausted every thing he brought with him to keep him occupied and, to my chagrin, almost exhausted the laptop too. But, it’s a joy having him here with me although, at times, I could wring his neck for his actions.

While I was home last, I did go see the therapist I had scheduled my session with. It was an enlightening experience to say the least. I felt better, somewhat, and hope that continued visits will help ease the burden of what it going on in my mind…as if I know what goes on in my own mind. I barely have a grasp on reality at times.

Till Next Time,
Blessings!

🙂 It’s certainly a time of changes for you. Small wonder you don’t have time to blog! I hope things continue to go well with the new company, and that’s too bad about the old dispatcher.
