Remember
I would be 81 in June if I were alive, but I am not. As I watch from Heaven at the world, lots of things have changed but alot has remained the same. My name is Annelies, but you may know me as Anne. This is my diary, and I would impore you all to remember. For understanding the past helps us not repeat its mistakes.
Anne
Anne Frank…we must never forget…

Educating people about the Holocaust and genocide is a very important issue to me. I read The Diary of Anne Frank when I was 12 and it has affected me for the rest of my life. People need to know that genocide is still happening today! I created an organization at my school to educate people about the horrors that have happened and that are still happening today! I like what you are doing here 🙂

I am horrified when I hear of denial that the Holocaust really happened. We can’t ‘wish away’ the past, and we can’t forget it. Welcome to Open Diary.

I am reminded of visiting that house, how steep the stairs, how small the space–and yet, despite the size that house has hugely informed so many and served of a reminder of a horrid and unimaginable time in German history and the history of Jews all over Europe.
