dear margot

in the fall of 1944
after 25 months of seclusion
we we were discovered
by the gestapo
because of
 an unknown informer
you, and me
were sent to
bergen-belsen
concentration camp
i watched, as
you and i
withered away
our bodies
fighting typhus
and losing

dear sister, though
i remember you
for the way you’d
brush my hair
whisper secrets in
my ears
were are more than
what war
could take
there was a time
when we
ran, laughed
in our homeland
giggling, free
dear margot,
i sit
next to you now
in the Great
Beyond

dear sister
I watched you
that day
in march of
1945
i too succumbed
a few days later
two months
before the
liberation

dear sister,
dear margot
i  do
remember
you were more
than a victim
of that war

margot and anne frank

A sad and very touching story. But one that must be told. How they survived through those awful years is amazing, but only for a short time. Their bravery stands out with the bravest of heros. I wonder if God awards medals of honor and bravery in heaven. They certainly deserver it.

Never again.
