The idea of the day: post a song with a "great" music video. What constitutes a great video? Without a set of criteria the term is meaningless and demonstrates only an opinion of "kewlness." I’d figure that the video has to embody the essence of the song. That is, the video has to have something to do with the theme of the song. More than that the video has to feature the thing that makes that particular artist what they are. A trademark of some sort if you will. It has to be interesting and non-repetitive to keep you watching as opposed to tuning out the video and merely enjoying the song.  Generally a great video will transcend if people like the song or not and my get people who do not ordinarily listen to an artist to begin to.  Given the above criteria I’ve selected "Thriller" by Michael Jackson.  I’m not an MJ fan, I tolerate his older work (when he was black) on occasion, however I think the video is amazing.  First of all, if I remember correctly it had a budget on par with feature films of the time.  The special effects were great, it featured his signature love of dancing, and the video compliments the lyrics of the song well.  Unfortunately the only full video I could find has a short commercial in the front of it, so, bear with it.
