the state of OUR union?

yeah…so i watched it…listened to it rather.

issues: 1) he spent half an hour talking about the state of the world. which is like…okay. security. important. but really. I don’t want to hear about 9-11 anymore. we know it happened. we know you’re trying to get the people…but seriously this is the state of the UNION. what are you doing in terms of education? healthcare? DOMESTIC things. my friend needs a job. what are you doing to help her out? helping  to fund higher education. excellent. what hte HELL good is it going to do if these people can’t find jobs.

2) the irony that he was talking about drugs. and drug education. THIS president.

3) defense of marriage: what a bastard. seriously. I realize that not everyone agrees with me. but seriously. if two people love each other, and are stupid and crazy enough to want to devote the rest of their lives together. and want to do it in such a way that they have power of attourney, and spousal health & survivor benefits, who has the right to say that they can’t? this whole “protect the sanctity of marriage” yeah. tell that to a country who’s divorce rate isn’t greater than 50% where there are so few monogomous relationships and marriages. i mean really. if anything it’ll help drop that percentage. arg.

4) you can’t use public money to fund faith based groups. you just can’t.

5) yes. obviously abstinance is the only absolutely 100% guarenteed way to prevent unwanted pregancy. however. to have abstinance ONLY sex education and to FUND it is completely insane. because a) its parental responsiblity that their kids understand what sex is all about. but okay…fine, if you’re gonna teach kids sex ed. you have to realize that some of them are going to make the decision to have sex before the get married. and that they’re gonna have sex in general. you need to at least make them aware of the risks that they’re taking on when they make that decision. have have to make them aware of how to reduce the risks. AND you need to make them understand that their decisions have consequences. abstinance only isn’t going to cut it.

and wtf was tom brady doing there? is he TRYING to make it absolutely impossible for the pats to win?

i dunno. what are your thoughts/opinions about this?
