Elf on a Shelf

So I have had a lot of notes as to what the deal is with the elf. He’s an Elf on a Shelf. Basically you buy this elf and it comes with a book explaining to your child that every year around Christmas Santa sends an elf to watch over a specific child or family and report back if they’ve been naughty or nice. They have a website where you can register your elf and the child/family gets to name the elf and this gives it it’s magic so it can fly back and forth to the North Pole every night and a course if you touch your elf it looses it’s magic. My mom got Angela her’s last year at the suggestion of one of the women she works with. She loves it!

I’ve found all sorts of great ideas to do with him this year on pinterest (I’m addicted). Like this morning I drew on one of our family portraits with a dry erase marker. Dusty and I had horns and beards and Angela had a halo and wings. Then I propped Cheeto up next to it holding the marker. Then before I went to pick Angela up from school I moved him onto the Christmas tree and turned the lights on. When I picked Angela up she said something about the tree so I made a point to say the lights weren’t on but we could turn them on when we got home. Well when we came home and the lights were on and he was sitting on the tree she though Cheeto did it.

And tomorrow morning I’m going to put him in the kitchen with a little sign and a plate of donuts. I want to get some carat paper at the Dollar Store Thursday while I’m at work and then Friday morning I’m going to carat paper her into her room! I’m also going to hang him James Bond style form the ceiling fan over the table at some point. Oh yeah we’re having a lot of fun with this this year!
