new eye with edit

my daughter took me up to thibodaux for my cataract surgery tuesday.  i had to be there for 6:40 so im telling her that i must be first on the list to be there so early.  its basically and hour’s drive to get there, ok?

that was a laugh i had 6 in front of me.and  16 behind me.  talk about an assembly line huh?  the doc has a wonderful reputation and all went well.  i am typing with my one new eye without glasses by the way.  its still a slight bit fuzzy as he did a few other things to my eye like fix the astigmatism and something else which i cant remember.  a 6 minute procedure, isnt that amazing?  it was easier than going to the dentist i swear.

everyone told me about the colors but unless you get this done you cannot even imagine the vibrancy of the colors afterwards.  i still have one "old" eye to compare the difference.  i feel like the new eye must be what a baby sees…what a beautiful sight  they have.

im not getting my other eye done immediately.  i dont see the point of it as the cataract i have in it is not bad at all.  the doc says i can go as long as i feel i need to.  maybe a year?  maybe longer?  who knows…we shall see or not see 🙂

i opted for the multi focal lens which lets me see far, and close and inbetween also.  im not regretting it thus far, but the cost is expensive.  over 2000 per eye aint cheap but do we put a price on eyes?  had i taken the mono lens i dont know that it would have costs me anything with insurance and all.  im surely not too proud to wear glasses but everyone would say how these were better, but better only means no reading glasses.

thats about all i have to say. yall have a good day.

edited:  i was kinda looking forward (not) to a pirate’s patch on one eye because terrance is so much into this but guess what…no patch even.  just  have bothersome drops every so many hours which i have the nerve to complain about.  we do tend to complain even when our cup overflows.

so glad the surgery went so well for you. my aunt had one eye done and it didn’t help her sight at all… if anything the surgery made her’s worse. take care,

Glad it all went well! xxx

Hey they even take the fun out of the eye patch now. They issued me a clear protector that you could see out of, well sort of. You had to tape the thing in place and it would take hours to get the tape glue off of your face. 🙁 Always fun doing that in between doing the eye drop thing …LOL.

Good news about the successful surgery. Ouch on the cost though but sight is priceless. I never realised that an astigmatism could be corrected. Enjoy the new and vibrant scenery. Best wishes, A

It is amazing, isn’t. Had mine done last of 2011, and talking about going early…they called me to the back and I thought, oh great…but the line was there too. And an eye patch would have been adorable (at least to Terrence).. Big hugs!

Really glad to hear all went well. They do a real assembly line with those. My SIL had hers done one at a time. She is really happy too.

i did not get the chance for multi focus lenses. you did right.
