Okay Now

Yesterday a comment someone made in everyday life reminded me that I should not always shut things down just because people are nasty and troublesome. Severely troublesome people are sometimes trying to ask for help the only way they know how. It may be some kind of help they believe that you, another human being, can give them. They may not go about asking for this help in a manner you feel is appropriate, but that’s what it boils down to.

What was said yesterday might have been said in sort of a mocking way, but it still let me know some folks were listening.

There’s religion and then there’s faith. There’s textbook studies and then there’s spirituality,  traditions and then requirements, and varying degrees of them all.

I never advised anyone to stop going to church or to stop supporting/working for essential (life-sustaining) businesses and organizations. I never promoted a universal DIY lifestyle, either, lmao. We all need others, and we’re all required to serve others. The way we serve is determined by The Most High.

The point I was trying to make is that we can argue until the end of time over each other’s “perception” of the text. We can cherry pick any verses to make our point “right” if being right is the most important thing to us. But at the end of the day, each individual will still believe and practice what they choose to believe and practice. Each individual’s journey with the Almighty is, in fact, individual.

On a different note, I think I’ll need to discuss this soup I had yesterday. I had extremely low financial resources and was hungry, so I went to a grocery store to purchase something life-sustaining. Upon my travels in such establishment, I came across some Marketside Broccoli & Cheddar soup. It was a giant container that was made affordable and portioned large enough to last a couple days if I wanted to spread it out.

I heated it up, dipped my spoon in, and went directly for the taste buds. I didn’t know what to expect, to be honest, as I was accustomed to eating some other brand of B&C.

All I can say is that was the first time I’ve said the actual word “WOW” about some food in a long time.

Me: “WOW! This is really good.”

Me five minutes later: “WOW!”

Me 10 minutes later: “Wow, this tastes better than Blah brand. It’s cheesy. It’s creamy. It has a nice, thick texture …” ON and ON.

LMAO. So much for “spreading it out over several days.”
