A Mile in These Shoes
I sometimes find it hard to be thankful for having so little, always struggling, and always having to climb out of some facilitated new ditch. I also find it extremely challenging to “count it all joy” when I’m being accused, threatened, shunned, ostracized, and ordered around like I’m someone’s child, lol.
“Do this only!!!!”
“Um … no.” *Deletes account permanently*
“You’ll work here or nowhere!”
*Works nowhere*
“If I can’t have you no one will!!!”
*Remains single and chaste*
“We’ve got our eyes on you!!!”
Nice. Would you like the middle finger, a fart, a moon, or some Bible Scriptures?
“We’ll send you to jail if you don’t do what we want!!!”
Cool. Free food and shelter and probably much less abuse than I’ve dealt with in other places, lol. One expects to have an unpleasant experience in a jail cell. One doesn’t expect such things from the professionals inside of a business establishment.
The weird part about it is that people/parties like this don’t actually love, value, or even want the person they try to force into position. They just can’t deal with the discomfort of not having them anymore.
Well it looks like we’re all going to be dealing with some discomfort these days. I’ll have to deal with the discomfort of not having a job, any money, and maybe even shelter, food, etc. They’ll have to continue experiencing the discomfort that comes along with repeatedly hurting someone to the point of no return.
You can’t threaten your way back into someone’s heart or force them to desire to be present somewhere again. That’s why it’s important to treat them right the first time. Using basic human decency instead of abuse to”incentivize” people to stay is an excellent retention strategy.
You never know who has the ability to break spells or mesmerizations. Such people probably aren’t going to want to return to a person or place that uses those types of “tools” to their advantage, lmao.
My shoes aren’t easy ones to walk in. Life gets rough sometimes, and like I said, it’s difficult to count certain things as “joy”. Prayer is the appropriate remedy, but sometimes it takes me a hot minute to get myself into that room and reach out.
