To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?

As much as I have thought to the contrary in the past, I have completely controlled my life to this point. Yes there have been people that have influenced me, for go and for ill, but I recognize that I have complete and total free will.

I am the one who made the choice to let people be a part of my life.
I am the one who chose to listen to them, for my own good or to my own detriment.
I am the one who has acted upon the thoughts I have had myself or the suggestions of others.

There has been no one pulling on puppet strings. No master puppeteer that has decided my actions for me. No devil or angel sitting on my shoulder.

It is just me.

I recognize that even inaction is a choice – one that I actually have not made very often.

Every choice I have made myself. If have have chosen to let others influence me, it was still MY choice.

Every step I have taken has brought me to this moment in my life. And I don’t think I have done such a bod job of it so far.
