Still Here (Vanity and more pictures)
So…yeah, I finished the doll. Her name is Althea. She’s changed a lot in her creation, but in the end, she finally found her own identity. Everyone thinks she’s cute and I should start making them ti sell. I don’t know. We’ll see.
This is Althea. You can’t see it here, but her head is sewn on crooked because it refused to sit any other way. One arm is shorter than the other. Her hair is really wild and lion like. She’s a real cutie. She still needs clothes, but she’s done. That’s a start.
This is her blanket. It’s actually finished now, but it’s just a simple crochet project. I think it looks pretty cute. It’s just the right size for her. It worked out great. Now Althea has something, even if it’s not clothes.
For those of you who don’t know, this is Caelan. He’s wrapped up in the grief blanket I made for him. It’s an appropriate gray. You can see that he stole it before I’d finished weaving in the ends. I still haven’t gotten that far. This was taken the day I finished it, which was on Wednesday or something. Anyhow, he finally has something to cuddle with to make him feel better.
And, in case youd idn’t know, this is me. I look very tired here, but it’s kind of artsy. It really shows off my personality. However, I’ve noticed over half my pictures recently have me wearing that exact same shirt. Kind of creepy, huh? You’d think I never changed my clothes! You may not be able to tell, but the earrings are swapped around backwards.
And you’ve got to have the girl leaning on a car picture. Well, this is mine. I love the way my hair is just falling over my eye. That’s kind of my personality right there. This picture expresses who I am at this exact moment far better than any of the other pictures taken of me recently.
Perhaps there will be more pictures soon. I need new pictures of the kids, but with Corde they can only be candid shots because she poses too much. Aris needs a bath and then maybe we’ll do some pictures. He’s spent the past couple days in a red shirt with a cat and Salem, MA on it and a pair of sandals. It’s his favorite outfit. He holds it up for me to put on all the time.
Aris has been talking a lot lately. I’m not the only one that’s noticed. Ian told his mom the same thing when she came to pick them up. Ian thinks he talks more than Claire, but he’s just quieter about it. He’s right. If you know how to listen, he talks up a storm! Just today when Krystal started her car I said, "That’s right, Aris! Run away!" I could have sworn he said, "Run away! Run away!! Run away!!!" That’s what it sounded like to me as he was running back to the house, but I’m the only one who heard it. These things happen all the time, just little things. It’s all things you wouldn’t normally notice. It’s all things you’ve really got to listen to hear. He also says them very softly. He’s such a timid child. He’s so different from Corde who is all up in everyone’s face.
Oh, and we got new neighbors. They’re really nice. Corde has gone to play with their kids regularly. As a result, Corde’s pretty exhausted all the time. She’s taken to throwing more tantrums at night, but overall is much quieter if she’s alone. She seems so much more calm and happy. It’s good for her.
Well, I should get going. Aris has been quiet all afternoon, so I should check on him. He probably just exhausted himself earlier. I should at least give him a bottle or something to keep him nice and full. I worry that he sleeps so much. He’s such an odd child. Well, I should be off.
