A big day in the Thumb of Michigan-the hoophouse is closed in!
We’ve been working on this pretty steady, as time and cash permit. Here is the progress and almost final result…
Now here is the hoophouse covered!
There are plenty of pallets for making tables and benches inside and under the blue tarp is a pile of wood chips that will be pulverized and incorporated into the soil.
Tomorrow is get the garden tractor-with mower deck and a snowblower front end. I have to make or purchase a blade for this new item. I am also getting a frame so I can make one electric.
Did I tell you that my first solar panel came this week. I think it is a 150 watt 12vdc and will be adding it to the farm this winter.
I need three thermometers for inside the hh and one or two for the outside.
More work to do on this side, the ground is plowed but not worked anymore than that. I think I’ll let it set til spring and then get an early bed in here. I have one on the East side that mirrors this hh and would like to get another Hoophouse on it in the spring. Maybe 20×100 or so. It will need another well and maybe a utility shed of its own-with electric, wifi, and maybe a little living area. Composting toilet, grey water system and maybe a sauna!
Well that’s all for tonight. The writing pro is coming in for the next week and hopefully she’ll be able to better explain what is going on in this little area of Michigan!
Be well; peace…dan
