Miles (R)
One Day at a Time
Intentionally slower than average since I put in some bursts of speed during the fartlek yesterday. I needed a bit of recovery. One of the things I’ve feared most about this training plan is the three days in a row of running each week. I’ve done plenty of two days in a row, but more than anything else I have done something more along the lines of every other day, lately. It has certainly been awhile since I’ve done three days in a row. But come to think of it, I had more success with the running back when I would do that. Ironically, when I’ve pushed myself, I’ve had more success. I think the body is capable of more than I usually give it credit for. Just because muscles are a slight bit sore on awakening does not mean I shouldn’t run that day. Also, my problems with lethargy could be due to diet and sleep habits rather than the running.
Good run. Heck, I will do 9:30 on the pace again tomorrow if I have to. I am going to get in these miles!
No playlist today. I didn’t take my mp3 player along. It’s great some days but other times I just don’t want to bother with the hassle . . . just something extra to weigh me down and have to fumble around with when I should be focussed on my run.
