Hmmm . . .

One Day at a Time

I think I left a bottle of coke in my car.  About half to maybe 2/3 full.  Plastic.  20 ounce.  It’s OK at this moment I’m sure.  I don’t leave for work until 1:40PM tomorrow.  By then the sun will be quite high.  Partly cloudy skies tomorrow, a cool start to the day at upper 60’sF but will be low 80’sF by 1 or 2 PM.  I wonder if it will explode (temps in the car are bound to get over 100F).  My folks have already turned the alarm on for the night, so I’m not going out to get it.  It’s almost 1AM.  The last thing I want is them questioning me.  My parents trust me pretty well these days but I know that kind of behavior will throw up red flags for them (given my history of sneaky behavior regarding drinking and whatnot).  I guess I will take my chances.  Worst case scenario will be a mess to clean up.  I don’t think it’s worth losing sleep over either . . . like, making myself get up by mid morning just to retrieve it.  I don’t know.  At least it’s not a can (that would be a more violent and likely explosion I believe).  Also, being that it’s only half to 2/3 full makes it less likely to explode than if it were completely full . . . more space for the air pressure to build up before it reaches critical pressure.

Birthday wasn’t bad.  Dinner at Monterrey Mexican Restaurant (my favorite restaurant around here).  Got a huge cake . . . yellow cake with chocolate icing.  Got $25 from my grandparents, a card from my sister, plenty of love from facebook friends.  I think my parents are going to pay to have my AC fixed in my car . . . that’s their gift, whenever I can take it in.  I don’t think it’s the AC though, I’m pretty sure it’s just an electrical problem because the fan simply won’t blow.  Had a friend test it out today.  It’s not the fuse, we figured that much out.  It actually comes on full blast sometimes when I make left turns . . . we’re thinking it could be a grounding issue . . . that turning motion temporarily grounds it so it works for a second or two (and blows cold air when it does).  But for some reason it’s not grounded permanently so 95% of the time it doesn’t work.  So, electrical wiring issue, will need to have the dashboard panneling removed and have the wires checked . . . seems like a messy job, but hopefully not an expensive one.  It was more than my friend was willing to take on today.  So, I’ll probably have to take it in to a shop somewhere.  Also, my sister called me yesterday.  That was a nice surprise . . . talked to her for about half an hour.  It’s been slow in coming, but the longer I stay sober the better our relationship gets . . . when we were younger we were the best of friends.  I know it can’t be that way again as she is married and living 150 miles away, but there’s still room for improvement.

Awesome news about your relationship with your sister. I hope you two can continue to grow closer. Hope the coke didn’t explode…
