It’s the merry month of May
Hello! I just realized that it has been awhile since I last made an entry. When I started this diary I wasn’t sure how I’d do. I’m just no good at making regular entries. We’ve had some strange weather. It was warm, then It was rainy and cool and by the end of this week they are saying it will be in the 80’s (hot!). Personally, I don’t like hot weather. It’s the beginning of May and I would like some consistent warm Spring weather.
I see that the question this week is, “Is there something that you had to learn that you wish you hadn’t?” Or words to that effect. Well, I’ve had to learn that people don’t always like me the way I like them. It can be a bitter pill to swallow when you realize that although you care a great deal about someone that doesn’t automatically mean that they feel the same way about you. Academically speaking I can’t think of any class I took that I wish I hadn’t had to take. There were some like macro-economics and accounting that I had to take for specialized diplomas that I never would have taken otherwise, but I don’t regret taking them.
Unseen
I moved about the garden
digging small holes
in the dirt
and dropping in
grey striped seeds
mammoth sunflowers
huge heads
large golden petals
hundreds of seeds
for birds to feast on.
I plant them in rows
by the coneflowers,
green leaves sprouting up
triumphant comeback
from last year
and near the chickenwire
by the peonies
and trellis with the trumpet vine
I put moonflower seeds
in the hope
a vine will sprout
and we will have
the large white blossoms
on summer evenings.
