Happy Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you who are mothers! I am not a mother and my own mother passed away many years ago. So,…..I don’t share in the holiday.
I saw that our question for this week is, “What is the worst book you’ve ever read?” Well, all I can say is that if I start reading a book and it doesn’t hold my attention or is really bad I just stop reading it. I love to read, but I don’t usually read science fiction or biographies or history. I prefer suspense and murder mysteries and fiction that can be humorous or romantic. I also like cookbooks and poetry and inspirational reading.
We had a beautiful day today. It is a little windy though. I went to a local park and walked around. It was very relaxing. Quite a few people were walking dogs or jogging. Only encountered one person on a bicycle. They speed by so fast it can be frightening.
Reading Books
It is that moment
when the pages grab you,
hands on your shoulders
you are lifted
into the pages
and through
a magic wardrobe
into otherworlds
or travel
through time
and find youself
with Noah
heat of the sun on your face
feet burned by desert sand
helping to build the ark,
gather the animals
or chasing along
the streets of Trenton, New Jersey
with a bounty hunter
or discovering love
on a dune
at the beach
beneath the soft light
of a full moon.
