Power Outages result in extreme boredom!
The entire town apparently lost power today at about 3-4 pm. It’s now almost 9pm. Let me just say that I don’t think I’ve ever been so bored. I didn’t even have internet!!! 2-3 hours worth of battery power on my laptop and I could have been on the web killing at least a little boredom since it’s a pain to read by flashlight/candlelight. And yes, I had candles. *gasp* We’re not supposed to have candles in our housing but I didn’t know I’d been given them because they were mixed in with a bunch of bath stuff that Angel gave me. I meant to take them to my folk’s house over winter break but I’d put them away in my closet and completely forgotten about them until this afternoon when it started going dark. I pulled those suckers out and lit 2 so that I could walk around my room at least without a huge fuss about the little bitty flashlight that I have. : )
Now I’m going to go take a bath and do some reading and studying since I have light by which to see and hot water again!

Oooh I HATE power outages, too! In the daytime it’s not that bad, but when you have things to do and it’s night and it’s dark… yup.

My first year on campus we kept having power outages. One finally ended in a student riot, instigated by boredom and since then we have had no problem. 🙂

Hahahahaha!! I usually don’t mind. Always a nice break because the net gets so damn addictive. 😛 Hehehehe. You’ll survive. 😉

RYN: haha, the riot was no big deal. It was pretty non-violent, and ended about 6 hours after it started, when the university police called the fire department to hose down the crowd. And in October, being outside and getting hosed by a FIRE TRUCK isn’t a good time. 🙂
