f*ck brain cancer

So I mentioned before (vaguely) the passing of a friend of mine, the husband of one of my co-workers, a guy I went high school with.

His name was Chris.  He had brain cancer.  He lost his battle on Sunday November 14 in the early morning hours.  His beautiful wife was at his side when he went quietly in his sleep.  He has been on hospice care for the last few weeks.  We all knew that the end was coming.  It doesn’t make it any easier or any less tragic.  He was 26 years old.  At the prime of his life, the time when he should have been able to enjoy his life, travel, see the world.  He couldn’t work, he couldn’t go out, he couldn’t travel, he couldn’t even enjoy going out to a bar like a normal 26 year old man might to watch the big game on Sunday night.

His family is asking that instead of flowers or condolences, people donate to the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine, Department of Neurology, One Charles Center, 100 N. Charles St., Suite 300, Baltimore, Md. 21201.  If any of my readers or any random people who come across this entry feel the desire, please follow this link to a secure online donation form for the Johns Hopkins website.

Whether you donate or not, please help spread this message.  Help us fight this devastating illness that pays no mind to age or race or gender.

RIP Chris

You will be missed.

Xx
